This is what I think of this phone, specifically in 2023. This phone REALLY went on a roll, keeping up with the good specs. Nice camera, great display, decent ram, good hardware, and alright battery from the first five years. I don't think it's worth it anymore, but you can still download some apps and other third-party applications. When I look at it now, it's not so bad. The battery is really bad, though. Of course, the specs are now weak and the 16GB storage is low, but this phone was VERY important at the time.

I remember flashing Cyanogenmod roms for better battery life 10 years ago...old is gold.

I really miss the 2012-2014 TouchWiz era. Noawayds the UI of Samsung is too soft, it looks fuzzy.

My first smartphone, still working after more than 9 years. Only battery is replaced. And sometimes its SoC overheats so it hangs. Display is nice even today's standard for normal uses. My memories.

i still have mine as a backup, i also have the diving case for it so use it as an underwater camera when i don't want to risk my newer phone.

My first flagship phone, I still have the photos I took with this phone in my recent phone. The photo quality still stands tall or superb. Beats most mid range phones till date. Mine was 19505.

Buddy, 26 Sep 2022Mine works with wifi onlyI think it's just your S4 is Exynos (i9500), not Snapdragon (i9505). Snapdragon models have more support than the Exynos models.

I'm pretty sure the Galaxy S5 and newer (As well as the iPhone 6S and newer) are able to be activated, but anything older is a no-go. Pretty much any phone with 3G or 4G GSMA is becoming unsupported by all carriers.

if you want to get the most performance out of your galaxy s4 then try crdroid android 11.
it's a decent phone even by 2022 standards, and custom roms help the phone support more software, just be careful not to brick it.
the 1080p AMOLED screen is the best part of the phone, with it still somewhat feeling like a flagship even 9 years later.
Works on my s4 snapdragon I9505 like a charm and might work on the exynos one better

I've had a new one from it release 2013. Now I want to restore it for remote control function (TV, Airconditions), it's only one that none of others phone can do! Hahaha

I'm still using phone as the secondary phone,... the super AMOLED display's still good for watching video.
