Get your eyes checked.
I've used s3 for I've year and s4 beats s3 in sunlight legibility.

There is much more to a screen than brightness and sunlight legibility. If this was the case, the world's best display would be xperia P. It outputs 1300 nits. No other phone even reaches 700 nits. Iphone is 600.
The more important factor us color gamut, accuracy, clipping, ghosting, size, sharpness, gamut etc.
S3 doesn't even come close to s4 in screen quality. S4 is more legible in sunlight than any other phone except nokia 808, s5, note 3, iPhone 5 and 5s.
Do stove research before commenting.

@darkgamer i need a favor buddy my phone's battery is giving me a tough time though i am on 2g network the battery drains pretty fast evn on standby mode can you help me with this issue pls? I dont wish to carry extra battery or those ugly looking charging backpanels..thanks in advance

The major upgrade is the processor. S4 has a 3-4x more powerful processor compared to s3.
S4 will get android L while s3 won't even get kit kat.
The screen is much much better. More resolution, better colors, no screen clipping and a much more accurate display on s4.
Camera is also much better with bigger aperture, bigger sensor, more resolution and more power to record slow motion videos.
Battery life is also better and just about everything is better.
But about upgrading from s3 to s4 i disagree now. He should wait for note 4. The prices will go down. And he can buy the one that fits in his budget.
I myself am waiting for note 4. I might upgrade to note 4 if it's good enough and the exynos processor is great.

I think switching from s3 to s4 is a good idea. the two are completely different oriented phones.
s3 does not include many of the features like certain gestures,air view etc.
the screen of galaxy s4 is completely sensored and obviously gorilla glass 3,also the screen is full HD 5inch with 441 ppi.
and one of the main difference is the presence of infrared in galaxy s4 and yaa u'll not regret buying galaxy s4..
ITS THE VALUE FOR MONEY PRODUCT!!!!!!

ANDROD L -must wait n see when on what ..
yesterday cleaned old drawers -found sony xperia play on 234 - still runs quick no lagging ..suggest DONOT be too hung up for ANDROD L etc .. s4- sure overheating issues - some lagging - battery life drains very fast on browing basic emails simple web browsing like reading newsx total 30 minutes -- take 3-4 simple pics -battery drops from 100% to 50% -we generally have strong network signals 4G n strong wifi..s4 is march 2013 phone ..s4 shall NOT get android L -samsung update rules exclude devices older than 18 months or so ..thats why price drop s4- by 40% to $ us 450 0r less ..internationally
