S4: better screen, camera, removable battery, capacitive touch buttons, touchwiz, SD card slot and the best battery life.
Cons: plastic body. Slowest gaming performance
Nexus 5: fast updates, stock android, great gaming.
Cons: battery life is poor, speaker is pathetic, poor camera, smallest screen considering on screen buttons.
Z1: decent camera and gaming performance. Overall balanced phone.
Cons: battery life not so good, camera is worse than s4 despite much higher megapixels, screen is seriously pathetic, speaker is bad.
Casual, multimedia or camera enthusiast: s4
Android purist or gaming enthusiast : nexus 5
Sony fan : z1

After new update the drop down icon changed to circle and round. Looks like the one in windowd phone?
Inside menu everything looks different from icon and setting...

my s4 works good care center has repair my set wid new mother board and screen after 5 days when i woke in morning i found my s4 dead just the day when my warranty over wht is the reason of dead s4 i attend call late in the nught and put it on table in the morning s4 is cool like ice

Lens: 5 element with scratch resistant glass( this works very well and is a durable and quality glass)
aperture: f/2.2
focal length: 4.2 mm( you can have some decent bokeh effect)
This is a really nice hardware and can capture stunning photos if used the right settings.
This phone can capture 60 megapixel panoramas and 8X slow motion videos at HD resolution.
If you want a great overall camera, only 2 phones exceed this phone, note 3 and s5. I'm excluding the lumia 1020 here. Just buy it, I'll tell you how to take great photos.

I rooted mine when the warranty was over and I'm an expert in these matters.
