BTW grand 2 lags a lot so if you want to switch to it due to lag, DON'T BUY GRAND 2.
there are many better smartphones available at the same price as grand 2 such as htc desire 816, xperia ZR or moto X.
Ask me if you want the info about sensors, aperture and other aspects.

S2 got till 4.2
S3 till 4.3
Note 2 till 4.4
S4 will be supported till the hardware permits and as we know, this is a beast.
Samsung tested the 4.4 kitkat on s3 after 2 years are over. The is no such policy. They support flagship till hardware permits. S4 us almost 3X powerful than note 2. It's sure to get 5.0 but I can't say about further.

will there be any changes??I don't think s4 will recieve android 4.4.4 as there is nothing new.
I don't know why people so much worry about updates. I haven't installed updates since months because this firmware is working great. A higher android version is not always better. 4.4.4 is just bug fixes and u don't have any bugs so even if it comes, I won't update.
Regarding the update schedule, I don't know as I don't work in Samsung.
If you want fast updates, go for nexus. If you want a better experience, go for s4.

444 is minor bugs fix on 443 -as seen on nexus 7 2013 tablets..no magic .but s4 very unlikely to get 5.0 lime pie due in early 2015 - 2013 s4 shall be out of date -2 yrs rule for updates by samsung .. other makes donot update after 1 yr after launch . apps shall need to be optimised which ANY CUSTOM ROMS CANNOT DO.. ALL MANUFACTURERS asvise strongly against custom roms-only for techies because simple mistake while installing custom rom can BRICK the phone DEAD USELESS FOR EVER .WARNING CLEARLY highlighted by all custom roms .
