Regular updating is important and necessary if the devices have problems with instability and lags so on. There are needed to give priority for update to every customer and provided regularly updating seems to be appearing SAM as well.

please don't upgrade to kitkat. battery draining faster, have some network problems, and many small hiccups. stay on 4.3.

you can't compare g pro with note 2. They both are seperated by 6 months. A similar unfair comparison will be b/w g pro and note 3.
BTW, i clearly mentioned for him to wait for reviews of s5, z2 and new htc one and make decision.
I myself won't buy s4 if i was him. The cpu is simply too old to stay even 2 years from now.
Look, power(cpu and gpu) is the thing that defines user experience the most as everyone hates a sow and laggy device. Both s5 and z2 are faster than g2 in cpu and much faster in gpu due to much more clocked adreno 330( especially s5). S5 has 3rd gen s800 or higher end s801.
I don't support s4. I just support the best device acc. to budget and time. I myself had written 1 page long posts between comparing s4 with htc one as they were pretty hard to choose from and in the end it depended on user opinion.

but optimus g pro is a snapdragon 600 phone with 1080p screen and xperia zl is snapdragon s4 pro with 1080p........why choose zr then???

That said, you spoke in favour of s4 albeit indirectly. According to you, the person should not choose G2 cos it's a bad choice, he should choose samsung that will have regular updates. Now, what samsung phones are available now if one should choose ? Then finally you suggested he shld wait for s5 but that was just a suggestion. Updates updates everytime, after all the frequent updates, what things do you have to show for it? Increased lagging and malfunctioning. My G pro is still on 4.1.2 but it easily outperforms my friends' note 2 that are updated to 4.3 . The smoothness is second to none, i dont complain, they are the ones complainig after every update. Believe it or leave it like that.
