AnonD-78030, 27 Nov 2013System is very well designed because IOS hardly has anythin... moreI don't know, I have been on Android for years, and I recently switched to iOS 7, and I find it extremely easy to customize, and the thing I love about it is that, as you say, it doesn't have tons of apps running in the back ground, that for me is a huge plus, as I hated it when my xperia would be doing things in the back ground that I didn't necessarily want or need. 4 inch screen, well that's personal preference, I actually prefer that sort of screen size. The S4 is a nice size screen but I wouldn't go bigger than an S4 screen. In the real world iOS works very well, so does Android, so does Windows 8 for that matter, but it's all about what you like. I just find it crazy that on these pages guys are fighting about which is better HTC or S4, or Xperia, or LG etc. I love my iPhone, but if other people don't like them Im not going to attack them, hahaha. I also like the S4, and Xperia Z1, but the HTC I have to say is not something I would buy ever! Have wasted a lot of money on HTC's that don't work. So as far as S4, HTC or Xperia go, I would say S4 or Xperia!

Now you are saying it has zero lag and it beats S4. I know the screen is not up to par but its not bad at all. I also know the camera has some problems but its also not bad and Sony has promised to release updates to fix the camera. So you call a device awful because of the screen and camera (which are not bad) ?? I have never used or seen the Z1 but I have read and watched tonnes of reviews on the phone and I have never heard or seen anyone call the device "awful".
You dont like large bulky premium looking phone doesnt mean everybody doesnt like it. It all boils down to preferences as you said. I will say this again the only device better than the Z1 at this moment is the Note 3.
I have used an S4 but now I am using HTC ONE and I have to say it beats the S4 hands down. The screen, the camera and the built of this phone is just lovely. The only con of this phone as you said is the lack of SD card slot and the non-removeable battery but I can leave with that. 32GB is more than enough for most people. Not everybody loves big screens if not IPHONES wont be selling at all and the 4 ultra pixel camera of the ONE is better that the 13mp of the S4 to me.
Well, its a free world and everyone has a right to an opinion. If you feel the S4 is better than the Z1, fine but please dont go calling devices awful. It makes you sound like a troll. Have a good day too.

IOS doesn't need to worry about memory management because it doesn't have those services running. If a person switches from Android to IO, he will surely say IOS is smooth but he will be deprived of the customization and so many facilities provided in an android. As i said before HTC, Samsung and others are not pure android. So if you wanna compare an android device to IOS then Choose a nexus device. You won't say the same then. About having a huge RAM, android needs it. IOS doesn't even have the age old Swipe feature for starter's. Android provides lots more than this. IOS 7 is frankly not as smooth as Kitkat 4.4. Performance testing apps are useless they say nothing about how the device works in reality. IOS 7 has finally added a feature to block background data service when on 3g or 4g. This feature is in android from ICS 4.0. IOS doesn't have a lot of feature that's why 1gb and dual core is enough. How can you hold a 4 inch device in today's world. :(
One more reason i don't suggest s4 now is because it doesn't have LTE support in Indian version. where as all the Xperia z series and Nexus 5 have LTE support. Future proof. :(

So many fights happening on this page about which is better between the s4, HTC one, Z1, LG G2, and it's all based on spec sheets. The Spec sheets don't tell you if the phone is good or not, they tell you what it has in the line of hardware, what makes a phone good is its over all performance. Great performance, and smooth feel doesn't come from a huge quad processor, or tons of RAM, or huge memory, it comes from how all of those components work together as the team that makes up your phone. Sure those components and their specs matter, but don't base your decision on that alone. There's plenty of phones out there with huge processors that lag more than an old Nokia, and others that don't have such big processors, but never lag. Its due to the way the system is set up, and the way the parts are integrated, if those components don't like each other or don't work well together, forget about a fast phone. Do spped tests with a proper performance app and you can see how fast your phone is, by the way, number 1, as far as I've seen, with a 1.3GH dual core processor and 1GB of DDR3 is the iPhone 5S. I've seen them crushing, S4's, HTC's, and other droids, it pretty much drew with the Note 3. Thats because it's system is very well designed, the same can't be said for HTC Im afriad.

HTC ONE is NOT better than s4 for all people. Some people prefer sd card slot, bigger screen, decent camera instead of good design so it all depends on preferences.
In the end nexus 5 is the best value for money.

The specs on the z1 really crush s4 but what about real world performance. Ok let me do it for you. If you see the comparison between galaxy s4 and lg g2 on gsmarena(the site I trust for reviews), they are almost equal with s4 winning most of the tests, and z1 is much inferior to g2 as you can say for reviews.
The z1 on paper is great but the screen is not upto par with super lcd 3 of htc one or super amoled of s4. The camera fails expectations and it lost to note 3 in the shootout by gsmarena which has the same sensor to s4 leaving 4k video.
Regarding design i would say premium but a large, bulky and thick phone.
The phone beats s4 hands down in performance though as it is much faster with 0 lag.
You may be a sony fanboy and you may ignore my comment but I recommend a sony product in mid or higher mid- range to all my friends and have saved atleast 5 people from buying galaxy grand and made them buy xperia sp(great value for money) or nexus 4(those who can tolerate LG)..

If you don't want to buy ... moreStop being a samsung paid troll please. Xperia Z1 is one of the best devices out there both design and spec wise. Comparing the Z1 to S4 is really pathetic from your part. The only superior device to Z1 is the Note 3. But the hardware is really dissapointing.
Salah its a great phone but there are better phones out there in this price range or even cheaper like the Nexus 5 . The HTC ONE is better than this phone. The LG G2 is similarly priced to this phone and its better. . I will recommend the HTC ONE or the G2.
But if you could spare a few more $ go for the Z1.

I stared firmware upgrade for my Samsung Galaxy s4 (GT-19505) from
Current version: PDA:MJ7/PHONE:MJ7/CSC:MJ8 (ETL) to
Latest Version:PDA:MK8/PHONE:MK8/CSC:MK3(ETL)
by connecting through KIES.
It is taking pretty long time ...only 20% progress in 4hrs 30 mts. Is there anything wrong? At this rate it may take 24 hours at least. What happens if I discontinue upgrade process in between?
