    A PHONE WORTH BUYING
...so having contemplated for months, having gone through numerous reviews, I finally went for it. I found the phone awesome with almost no flaws. In fact I needed a phone for 3 purposes- calling, camera and browsing. all these needs are satisfied. Camera quality is awesome, internet surfing is blazing fast and call clarity is also crystal, very sparkling voice.
All other features as air view, air gesture are, I think, a selling gimmick and I don't find them so useful.(other people may find them useful though) I have been using this phone for 20 days and still exploring its features (will be grateful if someone may tell me some predominant ones).
Earlier,I was apprehensive of heating issue, lagging issue but practically I experienced no heating at all. Although a slight lag while scrolling through contacts or opening them is frequently noticed, I don't know if any update is available to resolve it. I recommend this phone if anyone is desirous of buying this phone.
Now, I want to ask users whether this phone recognises our handwriting while writing a message,if yes please tell me. Thanks. A fabulous product.

please note that I don't use any of the pirated apps on my phone. And I fully respect devs as I am going to become one in 3 years. I was only telling him how to do it if he wants to. I either use free apps or buy them or just don't buy them because I don't want to make my phone full of malware or virus. even my laptop is having fully original set of software and I am strictly against piracy but I don't tell anyone to stop it as its their choice. if they want to make their beloved phone to risk, let them do it. I use ubuntu and licenced win8 and there is a huge role if devs in cannonical to provide ubuntu free if cost to us

Good post, but you shouldn't condone or promote piracy. For some developers, the apps they develop is the only source of income they have. It was wrong of you to tell people where to go to get pirated software.
I was beginning to respect you but your reputation just went down in my eyes!

use super backup to get back of any app downloaded from Google play.

AnonD-183325, 07 Sep 2013I have a few general questions. 1 Whenever we download a... moreLet me explain you the basic Android file structure. look, the Android od has a file extension named .apk that is used for the setup file for an app. But when you install them from the play store, they automatically get deleted and only leave the program. But for our rescue, there is a program named androzip which can make .apk from your app. just download it from play store, open the apps tab and bsckup the apps you want. now you can move them, share them or use them. I it can also be used as backup of your files. but note, firmware update doesn't wipe off any data.

now moving onto taking paid apps for free, you can search on google for the apps apk you want to download. There are some recommendations like apkmania.com or piratesbay etc. but a Google search also does the job like type asphalt 7.apk on google.

The apps are not Android version or hardware specific but you can check compatibility on play store and then download from somewhere else. If the app is available on your google play, is compatible on s4. That's all needed for you.

              have a nice day.

sweet, 07 Sep 2013Why my s4 has only 8GB intrnl memory :(it should be 8.9 GB. This is because 7 GB are taken by the os and the preinstalled apps and the ui etc. none of the 16 GB phone offers 16 gb but close to 11gb only. This is very less at 16 gb but try to think that so feature rich ui at full hd resolution should take this much memory. don't worry , this will be sufficient if you have a microsd card.

I have a few general questions.

1 Whenever we download any apps through Google play store, directly on phone, where dump part gets stores. Is it automatically gets deleted after installing it.I want to keep it so that I can install that app again without any further download.

2 Suppose, I have downloaded 6 - 7 gb of apps then is it possible to carry all of these apps as a backup before any firmware/software update, if so please tell me the procedure.

3 From where do you guys gets paid games/apps (asphalts 8,mc4 etc.).Do you have any website recommendation or any link for me whom I can follow? It will be good for me if any of the tech Samaritan(like Shu...am) can share their good paid apps/games in any upload site

4 I purchased S4 recently. I also want to know whether these games/apps are operating system version (4.2.1/4.2.2) dependent or hardware dependent (means they are customized differently for every phone).I want to know this because I want to know what I need to check in a app/game whether it is really compatible and made/refined exclusively for my phone when I will download it from any unreliable sources.

I won't bash on you in return as I am tought some manners and ethics.

These are just like clean installs which wipe out cache and do a good bug- free install. I am not forcing you to do this. And I read your comment. You should read mine with an open mind.

Yeah, what you say makes sense. I'll wait until the battery has had at least 6 charges and see if it optimizes more efficiently..
                              p.s. Nice post.

You can check all the review sites on this point. according to gsmarena, the s4 had got an endurance rating of 69 hours opposed to 50 hrs of s3. so that's an improvement. You may have got the phone recently or have done a firmware update recently. so wait for a week or 8 to 9 days till the battery becomes great and much better than s3.

Also my personal recommendation for firmware update are:

update via kies only. it downloads whole firmware.

do a factory reset before and after update. backup your data.

wait for one week till the phone becomes stable.

wish you a good time with your s4. these are not just my personal views but I advised them to many people and they are happy now.

LOL. No, I keep the S3 charged for when the S4 battery runs out. Doesn't last long, does it? On average, the S4 battery lasts about half as long as the S3 one. I wonder why? The faster CPU perhaps, or the Snapdragon chipset, or maybe it's got poorer memory management.
                                  Do you know?

Hey! You missed out 'sanctimonious', or was too big a word for you to spell?
                                    Sanctimonious:
Sanctimonious is a twist on the words sanctity and sacred, which mean holy or religious. A sanctimonious person might think he's holy, but their attitude comes across more like "holier-than-thou".
If you're going to insult me then at least get it right.

[deleted post]hey I've seeing both of you and freefaller just bash each other on this thread from the past one or two days and really you have made a mess of this forum. Please if you both want to really fight give each other your email id and send mails full of all the foul words to each other.

And anonymous you are the more irritating one who just doesn't understand even a thing. tell me which devices except nexus are on 4.3 . and Samsung is the best when talking of software updates. and believe me that software update rollout takes almost 2 to 3 months Even if you are on Sony or htc. forget lg as that doesnt even provide updates. and Samsung has provided me 6 updates till day to improve on soo many aspects.

Try going to other oem. They don't provide updates. and touchwiz is a very feature rich ui and hence it takes time to develop an update. I have seen my friend in pain who got Android 2.3 on his xperia s on launch and got updated to 4.0(buggy) after 4 months and 4.1 in this July after now than one year. htc is worse and lg is even worser. Also there is nothing much difference b/w 4.2 and 4.3 and 4.1 . Why are you being so serious?????

and for your kind information, the update over kies downloads the whole firmware which is always better than only some selected files on OTA. It's like an clean upgrade.
