AnonD-147650, 20 May 2013Hey, I need an assist please,I'm in need of a new phone an... moreI have the xperia z and htc one both which I prefer over the Samsung 4 which I have tried. Both phones are amazing with cool features in each giving them their own identity. Both are beautifully built. I personally prefer the htc one a bit more because of the home page which you can choose a category and flip through ( a nice new feature in a phone only for htc one ) the feel of the phone, the crisp loud speakers which unfortunately xperia z has very very poor ones and the beats associated with htc. Again the difference in those two phones will come down to your own personnel preference but you will enjoy either one of those phones no matter which one you go for.

                                  Causes of Overheating

Overheating can happen to any Android device and can be caused by several things:

Multi-tasking several apps such as games, browsing and music playback at the same time will definitely overheat the device.
Radio signals and wireless connectivity also contributes to the heat factor generated by the handset.
CPUs and GPU generates heat as well whenever a user launches graphic-oriented applications and high-powered requiring functions.
Room temperature also affects the handset. An air-conditioned room is likely to keep the phone on its right temperature but direct sunlight and scorching weather can cause the handset to overheat quickly.
                                  Solutions

Samsung has not yet released any new updates related to the overheating issues. So for now, owners of the Galaxy S4 should note some of these tips to avoid incinerating their device.

                                  1. Place the device on a cool, dry surface to help it ventilate.

                                  2. Avoid exposing the handset to direct sunlight.

                                  3. Disable all wireless connectivity such Wi-Fi, Mobile Data, Bluetooth or GPS when not in use.

                                  4. Monitor the room temperature where the device is located and keep it under control.

                                  5. Use the device inside a well-ventilated area whenever playing games or using high-powered applications.

                                  6. Turn the device off when you are asleep to give it some rest and time to cool off.

advice, 20 May 2013today i used the phone heavily with and without phone cover... moreHow "heavily" are you using your phone?

I'm using my phone "lightly" - means that I just turn it on with mobile internet switch on and left on my table. I can feel the phone starting heating - goes up to 50 degree Celsius.

                                        See image: http://i.imgur.com/waw5AJ4.png

If I'm using the phone to browsing internet, Facebook, whatsapp, wechat, gaming etc. the phone will become overheat.

From the first day I use the phone until today, the phone remain with the same problem - OVERHEAT.

                                        Forward Plan:
I'll walk in to Samsung Service Centre by tomorrow to check the phone's problem.

                                        Opinion:
I'm very unsatisfied with the values that I have paid off to buy a high-end smart phone yet receiving a problematic phone. I think not all SGS4 have this issue, and people who are unlucky like me may bought the DEFEAT product from Samsung (QC failed???)
