Samsung looks to cut the bloat, free up more Galaxy S4 storage
One of the more prominent criticisms of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is that its preloaded apps clog up a lot of the device’s internal storage, to the point where only about half of the 16GB model’s storage space is actually available for use. A Samsung spokesperson now tells The Inquirer that the company is “reviewing the possibility to secure more memory space through further software optimisation” and “is committed to listening to our customers and responding to their needs as part of our innovation process.” All the same, it’s hard to imagine Samsung freeing up significant amounts of space on the Galaxy S4 since the company sees its own unique apps and services as a key part of differentiating the device from other high-end smartphones.

When news broke that the 16 GB Galaxy S4 only let you have access to 9 GB of the internal memory, users were rightfully a bit angry. It is understood that system partitions eat into some of our space, but gobbling up half of the storage promised is cause for concern. After Samsung suggested that people used SDcards to expand that space, it seems that they may be looking for another solution to the problem.
In speaking with CNET, a Samsung spokesperson said they are “committed to listening to our customers” and that they are “reviewing the possibility to secure more memory space through further software optimization.” There was no timetable given for this reviewing process and that doesn’t mean it will even come to fruition. If Samsung can find a way to cut down on the size of their partition, S4 users could see some storage coming back their way.

Gsmarena needs to address these heating posting , Gsmarena needs to test their S4 units and see if it turns hot like iron or if they have to take out the battery because the phone is too hot , it's one thing to dislike something , but these lies need to stop . how come my S4 has not ran hot or heat up from day one, go ahead and talk about plastic all you want words don't hurt me ,

@ FS! My dear friend You mentioned all the features that different phones have. But You didnt just realise all the phones have one feature in specific. IF Samsung getting all the features together makes you or anyone else feel they are copying then dosent really matter. Cause they have managed to get all features under one roof (S4) which nobody hasnt. So be it.

I have my s4 since it was launch in India. Nothing problem in lag, heating.all who those like htc why are you commented on s4 if you are not using s4.

Had my hands on S4 today, i m A SONY fan but Yes Galaxy s4 is a show stopper for sure. It Fits better in hands as compared to XZ. Colors of XZ looks real in my opinion, S4 has warm tint. S4 screen fills the body and that looks good but delicate.Galaxy s4 has brought the prices of S3 to as low as 24000 rs in india. It was above 30000 just few days back.
Both S4 & XZ will have lot of custom ROM in future and it cant be same for HTC OR LG.
Flagships now costs 40k previously 30k was limit.

I think S4 might be a little behind in battery comparison with Xperia Z. Its way more lighter and faster thanx to Octa-Core.At least i know that i will get system upgrades 100 times faster than an Xperia. Dont have to worry about Sudden Death. 100 times better resell Value and much more satisfaction on S4. Other guys Bitching about samsung and specially S4!!!!!!!!!! Common Guys Grow up or take a walk.

It is a GLOSSY PHONE, I like it it among all.
This the phone which surpassed the IPHONE 5 Too....
Its not a galasxy S4, its a fantastic 4.
