Samsung is cracking down on supply chain leakers

Ro, 08 July 2021

Leaks have become an integral part of the smartphone industry and it seems impossible to keep a smartphone under wraps until its announcement these days. However, brands like Samsung and Apple don't really appreciate having their products revealed long before the actual announcement. And those leaks more often than not occur somewhere in the supply chain.

Reportedly, Samsung is looking to minimize those leaks and has already issued strong warnings to its supply chain partners. The company has already started investigating leakers and is handing out copyright statements so that the companies would apply stringent policies.

Samsung is reportedly cracking down on leakers

What does this mean for leaks in the future? Well, only time will tell but our best guess is that during the crackdown, the Samsung-related leaks will go on a decline before picking up the pace once again once this blows over.

Because let's face it, even with the most strict rules in place, there's always someone willing to leak. Take Apple for example. There are workers that are required to carry body cams during their shifts, which goes a long way to prove how serious Apple takes its intellectual property and we still know everything about a new iPhone way before Tim Cook shows it on stage.
