Japtech , 17 Mar 2010I have been reading through all comments posted about the P... moreplease don't. the battery life sucks. I am made the biggest mistake of my life by exchanging m8800 with my nokia 6233.
also its not user friendly.
Infact I would advise to refrain from my buying any samsung phones.

Stefan, 27 Feb 2010the battery life is shocking! if you charge it overnight so... moredont charge it overnight it does the battery in just charge it for a couple of hours

I got this phone a year a go and i'd never swap it back..actually maybe not never...but anyways i like it smart looking phone, great camera,easy to us...i just love it ...the only bad thing for me is the lack of avilable applications but it was my choice to buy it...i truly recommend it

I would not recommend this phone. Had one for almost a year now... the touchscreen malfunctions frequently, it would either respond to a wrong key or not respond at all. After a few days or a week, it will work normally but I have to go through this every now and then. Its bad when you need to respond to an important message. Another glitch is it shuts off by itself even if I just charged it. Photos during night time are terrible. The camera can only be relied on during a bright sunny day. My phone still looks as new as the day I bought it but no one seems to be interested to purchase it now, not even for half the price. Very low resale value. Very disappointing.

I am not able to access google maps and the samsung call centre says this model does not have a GPS.Please help on how can I use the map feature.

Strange. Yesterday the touch screen became erratic, would press the wrong key, would not let press what i want. Could not make calibration because menu unavailable to press. Took the battery out to no avail. After an hour i was ready to bash the bl**dy thing when everything went back to normal! Like last year when the camera and video could not focus right for an hour also...
But still happy with the phone, won't get other phone even free.

Is the gps on the phone good, does it talk to you? How does it compare to Jet?

I have been reading through all comments posted about the Pixon phone, alot of bad comments but one comment made by kerry, made me make my final decision. so by the end of the month im getting it.

I got mine on a contract upgrade and 4 months into using the phone i swopped it for a second nokia N95. Best swop i ever made dont waste your time with this phone. Its not user friendly at all

Samsung is not interested in making upgrades, prefer to sell new phones. Pixon 12 has the same sound codec so same bad soud. They changed the sound codec of Omnia HD, but now the HD video is choppy. I guess the only thing is to buy a Samsung with more processing power like the new Samsung Wave....Anyway apart from this pb i am very happy with the phone.

Is there nothing that can be done to fix the terrible sound obtained from videos recorded in loud places? No available firmware that can fix this?
Are there other Samsung touchscreen phone models that also suffer from this issue?

Smar... moreYou are right, sound in loud place is terrible for video, that is the only thing that makes me want to get a new phone, after 1 year and 1/2. Will surely get a Wave with HD and autofocus video recording .(disappointed with Nokia, and don't know SE)

I got this phone on contract and not impressed at all. Smart looking phone but thats as far as it goes. Battery life sucks, Capturing video at a party sucks cause the sound on playback is distorted also when receiving email it cant distinguish between word or excell. Unless u have dainty fingers then to send a sms would kinda be ok.

- Decrease brightness of screen to minimum,
- Choose your network mode(no automatic and no UMTS),
- Select your network manually,
- Turn off vibration.
It will last longer.

the battery life is shocking! if you charge it overnight so that its fully charged its half gone by the next day and thats only with moderate usage. also it is really slow BUT the camera is good
