how much roughly is a galaxy tab?
does it bring any inconvenience without 3G?
how's the picture quality?
can it fit into a normal pocket?

noob, 07 Aug 2011can it play full HD (1920*1080) videos in .MKV Format ???
... morei tested with .mkv, 1920x800, 23.976 fps, 4.316 Kbps, using BSPlayer lite. it plays the file, but it doesn't play smoothly. same thing happened when using MoboPlayer. also tried .mpg file, 1920x1080, 11 Mbps - the file plays, the sound is ok, but the video stays behind.
i guess P1010 maximum resolution for proper HD video playback is 720p (i tested it, seemed to work fine with .mkv, 1280x720, 2.631 kbps)

although your specs page says "upgradable to v2.3", there is no official info (from Samsung, as far as I know) on a possible future official upgrade to Gingerbread for P1010. indeed, an upgrade was released, but only for P1000. let's hope that Samsung will also upgrade P1010 in the near future.

in the specs it is mentioned to be upgradeable to android 2.3 Gingerbread.can anybody guid me on how to do it?

ex samsung user, 19 Jul 2011I bought this device circa mid feb 2011, around 2 months af... moreI have sbsolutely no issues with my samsung tab. I have been an avid ipad user before. But after getting the tab i will never ever look back at ipad, or evrn apple.
To me ipad is way behind time and trchnology. All these while i have been misled by things churned out by apple because of the name, without realising how far ahead and in touch with consumerd the likes of samsung are.

I bought this device circa mid feb 2011, around 2 months after the launch. Then i should pay at the premium launching price. Then SURPRISINGLY within a month after that, samsung made a mistake by dropping the price significantly. Just after 3 months after i got this device the price is only around 65% of my buying price.
This has made me get enough with samsung even when then launch the 10.1 version it does not spark my interest at all!!!
The worst about this tablet is the battery performance, you can only play within 2 hours, and even i got a news from the store where i bought the device one of their tablet user did already change the new battery less than 6 months after he bought.
Processor performance is less than expected in term of the speed and also reliability.
This was my first and will be the last experience with samsung. And definitely will move to another accountable brand.
Hope this experience will useable for anybody who would like to buy this creepy device.

can someone please tell me why i can't connect anymore to WiFi after I reset my unit? When this happens I also tried to use my proxy but to no avail. It scan alright but disconnect thereafter.
SOS please, otherwise this will just be another paperweight for my kid. Much appreciated.

Overall it is a good tablet. Limitation some apps is not available for wifi only tab.

Why my tab cant play hd on youtube? 1280 x 720 is standard for hd, but my tab cant play it. As i know this tab is not capable playing full hd only.
