Hi i’m a french mobile phone dealer and i think i can explain you why there is a difference between the talk time announced by samsung and the gsm arena ones.
I think it comes from the fact that there is a secondary battery in the origin holster of the phone, furnished by Samsung so if you just considerate the phone included battery there is only 3hrs talk time but if you considerate the 2 batteries you can up to the double, about 6 hrs and Samsung are very optimistic by announcing 8 hrs.
Hoping to have answer to your question and sorry for my bad level in English

Hi, I have a question, they list it as Modern Black color which is silver in front with black stripe on top. Do they offer it as full plain black front?
Cheers

i have to agree with "trickyhenry" there is nothing else on the market like this. i too have been waiting for something unconventional and this fits the bill, the only thing missing is external memory for mp3’s as 80mb isn’t really enough, then i couldn’t fault this phone.
Ordered mine on 5/4/06 but out of stock. I cant wait!!
Has any one got some pics taken with the camera?
thanks

I don't think many people on here have much apreciation for a 'uber' or retrochic design. Who the hell wants a Nokia? why do you want the same phone as everyone else? Can't you be different? This is a fantactic design and will probably influence nokia, motorola, sony eric so make their own versions. Mark my words!! rememeber this when you go out to buy nokia's small flat phone! Just because it's a bit different doesn't make it weird or ugly.. this is exactly the type of phone you want! its understated, its feature packed. I love the design and have waited years for someone to have the forsight to bring out a sucha cool phone. Mine arrives tomorrow! I can't wait!

Spot on design! The fact that the 'skool kidz' hate it only increases it's appeal!
Deffo reccommended, now on O2 for 20 quid on contract!
What are you waiting for!!!

At first sight it looks like a calculator, with no doubt (picture). The real deal is very slick. Nice looking slim phone. You will hate it or just love it (like me). Go to your dealer and just watch en feel it. You will like it too.

- I work Cingular

To address your question whether or not it will work with Cingular? Yes the phone will work with our GSM network. Be advised though. This phone is not reccommended simply for the fact that it does not pick up the 850mhz frequency which the cingular network uses. If you are in an area that utilizes the 850 frequency you might notice minimal reception as well dropped calls. That goes for any phone.
Please make sure the phones you are purchasing are compatible with our network. And ensure that the seller is offering a return policy.

I wonder how many times people will post that this phone resembles a calulator? I think it's funny that all these people want to parrot each other. I personally love the design, it's clean, and masculine, it appears solid, and has some personality. There are so many phones now that are over-designed into a mess of cheap moulded plastic and shiny bits. This is a bit different, not a huge leap really, but at least it's not another curved, brightly coloured childs toy. Looks like I'll be moving from Nokia, who seems to have lost the concept of quality design, to Samsung. Certaily the Samsung/Bang & Olufsen Serene has boosted Samsung's image.

My phone came yest, and damn it's sexy.
Mine came next dam from paris so manual and phone was in french O.o good thing i know a little >:D
Menu is easy to use, sound quality is excellent when using loud speaker or normal, mic quality is same.
Menu is functional and simple, but coz i'm a nokia guy, sommat to get use to.
Vibrate isn't so good, but it's ok.
Only downside i noticed it using data cable to put java games and polyphonic ringtones.
Apparently it's a samsung trait and there is a fix, if you google.
Well I love this phone, and it's very retro, and functional.

This looks like a calculator. I would rather buy an N70. Or break my own legs.
