Samsung Pay lands in Australia, Citibank and Amex supported

Samsung Pay got a foothold on the Old Continent when it launched in Spain earlier this month, now it's gotten into Oceania - specifically, Australia.

Launch partners are American Express and Citibank. Supported phones include Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge and the Galaxy Note5.

Note that you'll need Android 6.0 Marshmallow to use Pay and Samsung's press release makes it sound like some carriers still haven't pushed out the upgrade.

For Telstra in particular, S6, S6 edge and Note5 will get Samsung Pay "soon." Also, MST does not work on the S6 and S6 edge. MST is the tech that allows a Galaxy smartphone to be used anywhere an old-school magnetic card can be used (so retailers with older terminals are supported).

God, if we're waiting on Telstra to bring it to our handsets we'll be waiting until the end of time. My last carrier phone from them (Note 3) wasn't receiving updates even 12 months after the manufacturer released it for unlocked handsets. Absolutely...
