Samsung reports record-high quarter due to strong Galaxy S25 sales
Samsung posted its earnings report for Q1 2025, revealing that strong Galaxy S25 sales propelled the company to an all-time record quarter. The January-March period recorded revenue of KRW 79.14 trillion ($55.7 billion), marking a 10% increase year-over-year. Operating profit reached KRW 6.7 trillion ($4.7 billion), approximately 1.5% higher than the same period last year.

The Samsung MX (Mobile eXperience) division generated KRW 37 trillion ($26 billion) in revenue and KRW 4.3 trillion ($3 billion) in profit. This performance was fueled by demand for the advanced Galaxy AI experience, as well as “enhanced cost competency” and price declines for some components.
Samsung aims to maintain strong flagship sales in the next quarter, as it recognizes the challenge of weak seasonality. The Galaxy S25 Edge is reportedly set to launch on May 13 in Korea and May 30 internationally. The company also confirmed that it will expand its AI lineup through “Awesome Intelligence” to the Galaxy A series.

The DS Division, which is responsible for semiconductors and memory chips, accounted for another major share of revenue, totaling KRW 25.1 trillion ($17.6 billion). However, overall earnings were affected by a decline in average selling prices and a decrease in HBM sales due to export controls on AI chips.
Samsung stated that it is difficult to predict future performance amidst growing macroeconomic uncertainties and global trade tensions. Economic growth is slowing, and if these uncertainties diminish, performance for the Korean company should improve in the second half of 2025.

No, it's absolutely not a downgrade bro. Yes you are right, very few subtle changes and not significant ones and of course if you hold s24 ultra there is absolutely no reason to upgrade but I can say that as someone who tested and hold two of th...

Downgrade? How? It has a better ultrawide camera, and a much faster processor. It's also lighter, with a much better build? The ONLY downgrade is the s-pen isn't bluetooth, and nobody used that anyway.
