helloworld, 11 Sep 2009u'll get bored with this phone after about 2 weeks of use g... moredude just be honest , which other phone costs around 5.5k or even a little higher and has anything more to offer than this one(already it has been discussed how this one outperforms every other phone in this range or even a little higher in terms of features) . DO NOT put rubbish on forums.i own this phone for over a week and i am one happy owner of s3500

sayantan, 10 Sep 2009it worked but many softwares get installed open the first p... morebro thats why we call them third party "crap"....not at all reliable....
u knw not all softwares are downloadable even on reputed sites like mobile9.com...many of 'em are corrupted or have some kinda errors... pls read the comments below n u'll find other company phones cant install them too.... jus search more... n 1st read the comments before installing....

there is no problem like u said:
u can definately assign any mp3, tone, songs watever, as ur ringtone from ur mem card.....
jus go to ur mp3 or tone press option here the 3rd option is set as ringtone....
same in the case of wallpapers u can definately set wallpapers from ur mem card...again press option n the third option is set as ur wallpaper
its jus that when u set any ringtone or a wallpaper from mem card the phone keeps a copy of it
actually its a "positive" point bro...it keeps the copy of ringtones n wallpaper in phone memory automatically so that whenever u remove ur memory card ur ringtones, wallpapers etc wont change n remains same....if u set a wallpaper or a ringtone from ur mem card n if suppose u have set, say 8 or 10 diffrent ringtones to ur diffrent contacts so wenever u remove ur mem card it will changes to default n imagine u hav to assign those tones again!!!!!! so thats why to reduce ur labour it keeps a copy so that ur ringtones n wallpaper always remain exactly wat u hav set n never change NO MATTER if u remove ur mem card.
its a matter of fact buddy....
u knw bro in other fones people generally complaint bout their ringtones, wallpapers, theme etc changes to default(if set from mem card) wenever they remove mem card...n when they put it in again thay have to assign all those things again....

Thanks Anonymous. Finally you realised that we cannot browse pictures in memory card with next button and do a slide show.
Guys. This is not a boring phone. Its much better than SE and Nokia in this price range.
Its great watching videos on this phone. If you have kids then store some cartoons in the phone and ask them to watch while u r driving ur car. Remember to put the phone in flight mode which will disable the signal.
But I would neither say this is a great phone.
Here is the Problem #3:
1) You cannot configure ringtones, wallpapers, use images for your themes if they are stored on memory card. You cannot assign image or ringtone for a phone contact stored on your SIM card.
Basically all the inputs to the configuration should be on phone memory and not on memory or SIM card.
Boss justified this by saying that if the memory card is removed then the configuration persists. What about SIM card contacts. Donot say why should we use SIM card contacts. I usually store all important ones on SIM cards so that I can change the phone easily.
I would consider this as usability issue. Yes, we can justify anything, but the perspective is different from user to user.

cool phone at least what i have heard of it . i like black edition . i was thinking of buing it but 512 kb limited jar is very dissapoined at 240x320 phone 2.2 inch - no 3d games . 1mb will had been cool . no ngage either . plus themes or rare . still worth a little change i guess 'cause is cheap . bye

yes u can c the slideshow too:
menu - my files - images - my photos - option, here the 9th option is slide show....try it....yup it works for ur cam pics only.

By the way, I have checked the profile settings and everything is correct and should ring everytime I receive a call but for some reason it does not ring.

When I receive a phone call the phone does not ring at all. However when I receive a text message the phone plays the ringtone that is set up for that. If the earphones are connected the phone plays the ringtone when I get a phone call however, if while the phone is ringing, unplug the earphone the phone does not play the ringtone anymore. What can be the problem? thanks

After a lot of comparison between Nokia 5130 and Samsung S3500, I purchased Samsung S3500. As some ppl said, softwares and games cannot be installed in it; all fake; just installed a lot of softwares and they are working fine. Also connected to Internet without any problems. S3500 ROCKS !!

YES it is possible u can see ur pics in slideshow (fullscreen)
jus follow this:
menu - settings - display n light - my theme - option then create n then jus press the middle key....now jus click next...
try it now...
