No can't recieve pics from MMS phone, only way you can add new pics (8 total), and ringtones (12 total) is to use data cable or ir, You would need software, if you didn't get one with the phone, download it from samsung internet site

I have one (s500, very nice design, cool lcd, features crap. there is no excuse for samsung for not having (in new model) mms-java-shared memory. i downloaded some pics and ringtones via ir. Can have only 8 pics in phone and 12 ringtones (downloaded), and when you download new you have to erase the ones you have in the phone in order to transfer new pics or ringtones...ok that's bit of stupid but I can understand it requires some more hardware in the phone, but some things (features)which s500 doesn't have are simply software issues. What I want to say is when they (samsung) were making software for this phone it was easy for them to add few more features (no additional expance) but they didn't...WHY???

Go & buy a MMS phone if you need one..don't complain here....S-500 is sold quite cheap as it's for ordinary use only. If you need a phone with more features, pay more and get a better one

well, s-500 is a nice phone. It has almost the same features as S-300 and S-200 but it is definitely cheaper. It looks cool, compared to S-300 which has an ugly antenna. For those who need camera, or MMS, go & buy one then. Stop complaining about S-500 as it is the best.

I recently bought 2 S500s for my business, and they do what they do very, very well. No problems at all with them - good sound quality, nice big, clear screen, good sounding polyphonic ringtones, good good great.
Concerned about the lack of MMS, but hey.
The lack of camera doesn't worry me - if you want a camera phone, go and buy (and pay for!) one.
Great phone.
