ive just got the s500i and changed my music to acc, but stillcant use as a ringtone as the file is unsupported, can anyone help me. as i would like to use some of this music as a ringtone.

Ive had the Samsung E700 for a couple of years now and it has finally packed up so brought the S500i as I still like my old fone...but when I got it there is No ringtunes on it or anything just 1 main 1 and 1 mian message tone...Is that right? Also I tried sening pictures via message to this phone and it comes up invalid...can this fone not receive picture messages that way? :os Im a little dissapointed really.

i dont have trouble viewing my emails, but i do have trouble getting my imails across for my friends to recieve. they dont recieve my imails but on my s500i it says sent!! can u please help.. urgent!!!!!

Hi kito, there is no free way to get hotmail on imode just yet, type 'hotmail imode' and your country into google to find out if anyone does it in your country (fee between 2 & 15 euro per month) gmail is free (apart from download cost)

hiyaa i got dis fone a while bck ... but i still cant get mp3 ringtones ! ...i know dat i hv 2 do dat on itunes ! but it dunt work ! :(:(:(:( n its doin ma edin plz can sum 1 elp me ?????? email me plz soon as poss ! LaUrA x x x x ps i have got a dongle !

Yes it is sad iLWZ, this phone has so much more than just m4a (acc). i love the fact you can read your .pdf book on the train, or store a word .doc you need for work, then just BT it to computer (those type of files & excel, ect go into 'other files', press 5 to rotate screen). Its a real pity they have locked the java part (the only way at the moment is to download *.jar with a *.jam in front of it) everyone should email samsung & tell them you want the java unlock code, we should not have to pay for free games. also m.gmail.com is a great way to view your email through imode. This is not just a fancy video ringtone phone.

hi i see everyones saying put the mp3 as aac so you can convert them to ringtones but i still do not realy understand as i did this and it says they are unsupported files :s, be very greatfull if some could help!! thank you

Its sad nobody wants to talk about the phone but instead just keep asking how do i get mp3 ringtones. Anyway Use DBpoweramp(http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) to convert mp3 to aac. Worked fine for me.

i only got my phone this morning and i havent put it down since :-) .... i love it so much it looks great but i need help!!! .. i no you cant have mp3 as ringtones and i know that you have to change it to a aac or mp4 file ... i have changed my music to this format and put it on my phone but it only lets me put it into the "music" section because that supports the format.. then i went on my phone and selected music then a piece of music and clicked set as ringtone but it says unsupported file :S evan though its an aac i dont get it ive tried saving it as another type but nothing works does anyone know what i can do to it so i can have music as ringtones thanks Chloe xx

ive downloaded ituned to try and convert my mp3 music files, but wen i right clik to go on convert it doesnt give me an aac option it gives me an id3 tag version or sumfink like dat!! plz help if nebdy nos how to convert plzzzz

if you want to put your mp3 to ypur ring : you have to put mp3 format in agp: so before you open your mp3 by the audio editor you select the 20-30 secondes of song( not more) and you save as ...(in format wave or mp3) , after that you change the format in agp with super (logiciel):

ok, i was defo gonna to get this phone until i heard about a HSPDA phone,a samsung z560, but i bet the price of z560 will be expensive, at least S500i's feature is more than better for my money,....the more better phones samsung makes, the harder for me t0 get s500i...

hi, i am having the same problem as most people on this forum, i cant seem to be able get my mp3s to play as my ring tones.
i have moved all the songs from my old phone to this new one, but i cant play them on the samsung. can anyone help??
other than this problem i am really liking this phone!

Only had the S500i for a short while but I am already quite impressed. Looks and feels just right.
Was a bit worried about comments I had read about not being able to use music downloads etc as ringtones but have managed to crack that one quite easily. I find using a bluetooth dongle attached to your computer by far the easiest way to download music, pictures and even video clips.
As for battery life if you turn down the contrast a few clicks and don't require the memory card in place this can increase battery time quite considerably. With normal everyday useage I can go 3 days without having to recharge.
Finally having previously had numerous Nokias and Samsungs I would say without doubt this is by far the best by a long way and anyone considering buying should go for it.

hey it me matty boy again, ignore my last post again, it was stupid, anyway, i am 15 year old, and want to buy a new mobile, never had a samsung phone before, and this phone had caught my eyes, and this is probably will be my first samsung phone, so should i get it or not?, because this phone has good specs, so should i get it?

Hi,
I have this phone and had the same problem. The solution is easy, make sure all you MP3's are on you PC in you music file, download from the internet, itunes, the program once installed and running will automatically import all your music, you can then go down the list and choose which song you want, right click and choose convert selection to AAC, the program will then make a copy of the MP3 in M4a format, you can then transfer the tune to you phone's music folder and use it as a ringtone.
It's really easy honest. Hope this is of some help.

i have the cure for this phone battery, get a backpack, put car battery in ur backpack, get a wire, like the battery to S500i, long battery life, one back fire tho, OVERHEATING, lol
