hi King,ive got some questions about this phone.Im so confused,which one i should buy, samsung star s5230/s5233(in my country,s5233,not 30) or LG kp500 cookie.both are awesome and looks like.its score also almost balance.but i think i go to star cuz it have the all white version when the lg's white is combined with light blue who was so girly.but:
1.can i make a folder easily in this phone just like at my sony ericsson w810i?
2.its media player is good or not for me as the music freak?i collect more than500songs in my w810,and my mum's samsung,sgh d900i,cant add a lot songs in its music player,d900i's music player is bad,also cant make a folder in picture gallery or videos and musics,i hope this phone is as friendly as my w810...
3.if i buy this phone,does it including the external memory while the lg including 4gb,and samsung usualy not include memory card on its phone while we buy it?
i want to buy it but still afraid i'll be disapointed.help me please

anyways, i have an... morethanx dear...
the samsung pc suite is the worst pc suite i've used. i use a more user-friendly way of communicating with the pc.
u won't be needing ur samsung pc suite. uninstall it completely.
steps:
1.goto settings, then "phone settings".
2.click on "pc connections". click on "mass storage".
3.now connect phone to the pc. the OS on ur pc will automatiocally detect it like an external storage media. n ur phone will behave like a pen-drive.
u shall find data transfer between the phone and pc amazingly fast (like u r copying file from one drive to another).
hope this helps...

i have already installed the pc studio but my pc cant
seem to recognize my phone even after i installed the driver.
it always prompts me to install a driver for the pc to recognize my phone. what can i do to solve this?

king, 08 Jul 2009no u can't get iphone theme on samsung star. there are no p... morean option in phone setup to turn lock totally off altogether wouldnt go amiss. There are times I am on the phone where I might have to put in DTMF tones by keypad but when u on call the phone locks keypad immediately. Its infuriating!

Trouble is my phone never seems to recognise my gesture mark or hand writing letters for texts/memo loads of times i have to write it three times! - maybe its my messy writing tho!

yes u can download more widgets. there is this particular widget called "download more widgets". its the 2nd last widget option in the widget select screen in "DISPLAY SETTINGS".

Andyr, 08 Jul 2009I tell u what I am unhappy with. Sound comes from ear speak... moreno direct way to switch between apps: i had written how to switch between apps (indirect way of course) by using the hold and gesture lock feature.
1.when a window is already open, press ur hold key, then draw a character for another application. it opens parallely.
2.again do the same for another application (sms, call, java, music player, browser).
3.pressing the back key takes u back to the previous application.
of course the characters need to be assigned before the gesture operation.

Main disadvantages
No... moreI tell u what I am unhappy with. Sound comes from ear speaker and does not have another speaker for ringtones/music. Ramped ringtones that do not come on loud first of all even though you have not set it to ascending ringing. No inbuilt holder for a stylus and I had no stylus supplied in the box. Hard keys (end call/send buttons) do not light up at all. Phone locks too quickly when on phone call so fiddly to turn on speakerphone facility. No phone conversation record on my model.
No 3G but not a particular issue with me because I dont use Internet on phone hardly or use videocall.
Proprietary connectivity port: I dont really like phones with this port, give me a phone with standard mini usb socket and standard earphone socket any day.
Slightly more expensive than the LG KP500 Cookie: Roughly around same price in my country I think. LG KP500 cookie comes with roughly same features and has a built in stylus holder and stylus.
No way to directly switch between running apps: I havent found a way although on my phone you can 'minimize' some running java apps and games.
The camera is quite basic - uninspiring picture quality, no autofocus or flash?: I have found this to be one of the best cameras on the range of mobile phones. No flash but perfect in daylight and not too bad if you have avialble light indoors. - no focus problems yet, I dont know how it would perform Macro/Closeup yet havent tried it.
Non-hot-swappable microSD slot?: I have found it to be a pain where it is located on the S5230 but other users have reported no problems. I like to be able to hot swap SD card on the outside of phones myself without having to take covers off and shut down phone. I believe the cookie has external sd card which is hot swappable.
