well i got 3 few queries about the phone
1) since u don have flash in teh phone, wt about the games that can be installed? can i install the ones i use on nokia?
2) heard that the only way to silence the ringing when u are getting a call is to keep reducing the volume? is this true or is there some way to silence the ringing?
3) is it posssible to install java based applications in teh phone?? if so how???
please do comment...

hi,I brought the phone for rs 96000.satisfied by its performance but exept for one problem:the brightness in my phone`s lcd is poor compared to others when seen in camera visualization.the whiteness is dull as compared to others on similar settings. do any one else have encounterd similar problem ,please tell!the service center says that its lcd needs to be changed but its not available yet as the set is new. what a pitty!so overall i`m unhappy

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970hi raja the softwares are not running because your phone has not upgraded with firmware, upgrade it first and then try the softwares.

hey i always knew that the HTC phones are very cheap there in Saudi Arabia. try getting ur hands on an HTC Touch Diamond if u can... its my dream fone. sorry cud'nt resist saying dat. hehe :=)

1.u won't need opera in this fone. the in-built browser is superb. it automatically switches to full screen when page opens. again, when u turn ur fone, it automatically switches to landscape mode. u don't need to customize it sepatarely like opera. also its very fast n has got a touch zoom feature upto 2X which opera does'nt have. i surf the net a lot.
2.full multi-tasking is supported. u can open any application while net is running in the background. and no it does'nt make the phone slow. yes radio plays on the background if u want it to.
3.camera indoor result is grt wen light is present. but if light is too low then pic brightness shall be affected. but no noise (or grains) appears on the pictures for indoor shooting.
4.battery lasts for 4 days on maximum use. yes this feature is superb. no other fone in the market gives such superb battery.
u r using nokia 5800. i wud not recommend the samsung star to you. music on nokia is much better, and though i am not a big fan of symbian os, but still it has a lot of features and u can install games, spftwares and themes very easily, ehich u can't do in this fone.
again 5800 has 3.2 mpix cam with flash and carl zeiss optics. undoubtedly it is better than the star.
anyway if battery on the nokia is a big problem for u, then i'd suggest u go with samsung star. i had the same problem with my previous Nokia N81. it was superb except dat u can't use the features if u don't have the juice in the battery for long.
neway its ur choice after all...
er... do give me a call if u're planning to sell ur 5800XM. i might as well try it...

Wri, 02 Jul 2009Hey is the back cover of the STAR very loose???Does it come... moreback cover is not tight as other phone models. but no it does'nt open wen u take out ur fone. but it opens up with a small pressure.
it does not have the latch-bolt mechanism like the nokias.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2009hii ppl whr cn we get screen guard 4 d phone wats the gestu... morego to a nearby mobile shop in your locality and show them ur fone and ask for a scratch guard. they will give it to u... all brands of scratch guards can be used with it...
in gesture lock feature, when the phone is keypad locked (or touch locked), u can directly open applications (without going through idle screen, main menu, sub-menu etc) by drawing characters on the idle screen. the characters should be assigned to the applications before. its an uber cool n stylish feature...
