about maximum memory capacity:
samsung website: 8gb.
instruction manual with this set: 8gb.
most websites: 8gb.
most shops say: 8gb.
i repeat the full memory capacity is NOT 16gb, its 8gb.
by da way why would u need 16gb man?? i have 5 movies (converted to mp4 lower bitrate) n lots of songs n videos and still have about 3.5 gb left on my 8gb card.
wat do u want to keep in 16gb cards?? high quality dvd movies?? this fone plays videos at just 12fps. u will have to convert it to a smaller size otherwise it will not play...

i see a lot of people getting trouble with the play pause option. here's the trick...
when u run the music player, u might have noticed that the music player widget automatically appears on the main screen. well then u drag the widget back to the widget toolbar.
well, when u want to resume playback from the point where u paused, simply drag the widget out of the widget toolbar to the main screen (. now touch on "play". it resumes playing from the paused point. try it... well it did not work on my friend's set. but it did on my one... so can't say about yours...

the name of the shop in chandni chowk is National Radio.
its a mobile shop with accessories available at affordable rates.
u drop at chandni chowk metro station. then walk past E-Mall, turn right at the next crossing, u see 3 to 4 mobile shops (with NOKIA placards). national radio is the 3rd one i think.

sound output through the headphones supplied in the package provide very high sound, but they have worst quality. u need 3rd party headsets.
sound through loudspeakers at full volume is equal to nokia n73 music edition. but quality is not so much clear. it will satisfy you all over...

Thanks to correct me.
Yes you are right about hack of getting mute the key tone. And also about battery backup. But what i feel that charging from power plug and USB seems differnt output. As in both case hint saying fukll but i think might be differnt interbnal charge storage. I don't know the lower design but it seems by expriencing it. Ues battery able to go for 2-3-4 days without recharge by normal use. No doubt on that. Might be it will degrade with time. But currentely this. Its also true that this is not normal battery backup. Such backup not even in good Nokia- Sony phones too.Except some vary special phones.
About SMS capacity is somthing else. Problem is like my sim that is old one and have only 10 SMS store. So i am getting frequentely warnings. Hope you can understand that condition. I am also not fond of saving SMS. But my comments are for all other users too.
About playing pause thing. How can i show you. Really i am facing issues. Its not only about delay. As i say on pressing end key (call termination key) only work on some video or even some special audio. I tried end key after 2-3 minutes to continus pressing pause and back key. Nothing works. So its exprience to exprience.
About JAVA. I don't want to waste money or time in games. But i need useful application which we can get extra. By this we can make phone as we want to use. Application like translater, dictionary, speech engiine, Loan EMI calculations are useful ones. If there is no such inbuld Application then its good to have from JAVA. Thats i say it will be good if we can do that. Else i agree there is no point to play games on touch screen.
In conclusion from my side.
Yes phone is awesome in UI exprience. Quality to represent things are quite good. Best for person need long battery life with quality feature phone.

Secondly: in this phone you don't have to use screen protector because the screen of this phone is scratch resistant, the fingerprints visibility you are saying is because of anti scratch feature of the phone which will increase the life of the screen.
So, only three cons are left one is memory card, yes Samsung should provide a memory card with the phone.
Another equalizer should be there and also themes and games are veru necessary.
You know a good thing for Indian buyers, the official site describing 50mb internal memory but surprisingly it has 100mb internal storage... may be the samsung people felt guilty for not providing external storage card:-)

forgot 2 mention a few more things...
1.do buy a screen protector once u pull off the one that comes with it. costs rs.100 in kolkata.
2.i'm using 8gb micri-sd card on this fone (nokia company 8gb memory card... hehe)
3.i have about 700 songs, 300 music videos, 5 movies (converted to lower bitrate and size 240*320 in mp4 format)... superb quality... no lag in functions with 8gb or with music player running in the background.
4.do check that the battery provided is 1000mah.

Heyloo...i got this phone 4 days back for 9200 including a 2 gb memory card(bought it seperately)...the best phone in this range and has amazing battery backup...especially with arund 50 sms and 7 hrs of chatting on da phone...lasts around 2 days...
1.)I wuld like to know if we can connect the device to pc and use internet widout gprs..i use a data cable internet connection ..???
2.)If we can read .doc and .xml or .pdf files on the phone..???

this is my 8th phone. i've written a lot in gsmarena for other fones that i've used. now my latest phone is samsung star. if u have any probz... post it...
pros:
1.its a superb fone. all in all... n i say this after having used top-class fones from nokia n sony n motorola. (this is my first samsung fone)...
2.user friendliness is top-class... never expected samsung to come up with such mavellous softwsre ideas...
3.music is superb... i'm using a creative ep-630 sound cancellation headphone after connecting it through a 3.5mm adapter (i got it in chandni chowk, kolkata).
4.watching videos is a treat wid dis fone... superb quality... n wat i love is, unlike nokia or sony, u don't have to check the battery after every 2 or 3 videos... battery backup is best in the market.
5.i dont know if 10 hours talktime is correct (as mentioned in specs in gsmarena) but i talked continuosly for 5 hours wid a friend, n the battery was still showing full battery. i just could'nt believe this...
6.i love the way u can pull out widgets from da sidebar... if u want show-off n usefulness, this is a classic stylish feature!!
7.there is no flash, but with night mode on, it can beat nokia's carl zeiss optics wid flash in dim light. superb camera.
8.love the way u can scroll through pictures with finger or just by tilting the phone in any direction.that's really sexy...
9.battery battery battery battery... battery on this set is a dream come true... with 4 hours per day calls, about 80 sms per day, 2 hours music, 1 hour videos, battery lasts 2.5 days. my god. its awesome.
now for the cons:
1.for going back, u have to press the back key, there's no touch-option for backing. dats irritating at times.
also no touch option for receiving or ending calls. have to press the keys n as they are way down, its irritating at times.
2.no customizable equalizers. but audio quality is superb. my previous nokia 5300 and n91 had far better sound with external headphones.
3.if the screen protector comes off, screen looks really ugly with finger prints all over, when backlight has turned off.
4.no memory card with package. have to buy separately.
5.themes n games still not available on the net.
