I'm going to purchase star soon..
but i've a few doub... moreI'm going to purchase star soon..
but i've a few doubts..
1. why is it priced so low? because it caters the middle class market who always wanted a touch but coud not afford it.
2. any news if similar model will come out with capacitive screen..- f480 supports capacitive but the s5233 works with both .. try it!
3. can we flash firmwares like in sony ericsson.. -- this i haven't checked.
4. multitasking?? i.e. sms while playing music..- YES
5. fingerprint magnet? little but not super just get a screen protector
6. any dust problems? none yet.
7. is it worth waiting for s5603? i dont think that has the QWERTY

me too! battery is impressive! i just cant seem to forward a video :( but sooo love the phone .. nice nice touch at a reasonable price

1- hows d sound quality>? is it betta den nokia n73?
2- howz d touch ? is it lyk sumtyms d touch does not respond?
3- does it have any hanging prblm ? i mean does it switches off automatically ??
4- if i put a scratch guard on d screen .. would it affect d touch response?
5- finally .. should i go for samsung star or cookie?
as i am getting both exactly for d same price[9550]
but wid cookie .. i am getting .. 2 gb card n a sctach guard ..

I just bought it today and it is a wonderful phone for a wonderful price! really nice sound, alot of bass with and without headset and screen size and quality is very good. good buy, 10/10 for samsung.

I purchased this phone instead LG cookie and i´m surprised about the difference between S5230 and F480. For all question about applications: Its JAVA support, so there is google maps, opera mini, palringo (msn, yahoo msgr and various more, client). Camera pics and videos is average for a phone in this budget; i like very much the panoramic option and smile shooter. Media player is basic but works perfect. Battery life is great, i used 4 days after a full charge with normal-heavy use (Phone talks, internet browse, msgr chat, taking pics and videos and listen some music, bluetooth transfer and syncronization with pc). Touchscreen is very responsive and looks great for just 256k colors. Any questions or comments to vgacitua@terra.cl

Hello ppl;
one of my frnd recently purchased samsung star, so i got a chance to get a hands-on expierience....
so, here it goes....
answers to some of the questions that i saw here.
1. It DOES NOT have a bass booster eq preset, but the sound from the bundled headphone is really nice and it has a decent bass level, so bass booster fans (I'm 1 of them) won't be disappointed
2. This one for mr.krish: Samsung Star DOES support document viewing i've personally transferred and read .DOC, .XLS, and .PDF files
But i have a question about its battery strength, Do any of the users here can tell me how good is the battery life of samsung star????

devinder, 01 Jun 2009from my point of view its not annoying, it is an advance feature devinder plz help me pick a phone im seeing the moto rokr e6 and it has gud qualities too they say the samsung star is delicate and as i use it roughly which shd i pick pllzzzzzzz help me PLZZZZZZZ.........

Does the music player have bass boost or something like that??? If yes, then how is it? And does the phone support apps like opera mini, google maps etc.? Thanks!

The mobile has many features and is really worth the price.The only problem is with browsing the net. I am finding it difficult to browse the sites with this phone. I had earlier used a window mobile which was extremely fast. Can somebody help me on this???

whether s5233 supports document formats like .pdf and .doc.if any one really used it replay then i will accept its better then cookie because cookie supports there formats.is there any one can replay to question my email id is chenna210krish@gmail.com

Very bad thing : there is no slot provided in S5233 for keeping the Stylus. Need to carry it seperatly.

i took samsung star thinking that i will be able to play loads of games on it...instead on transfering all d downloaded .jad and .jar files on d phone...i get a "unsupported file format" exception...i m totally going crazy ...plz help me!!!!!
some sites have given diffrent codes for activating d installation of java games for different pieces...does samsung s5230 also have such a code..???plz reply....
