There is a 3G version available in India. This is phone is named Star, 3G version is Star 3G.

Hi, I'm really interested in buying this phone, but one thing putting me off is the lack of 3G. Could anyone tell me if 3G is really essential? What can it do compared to 2G or 2.5G?

hi people y keep looking on wifi for tis fon there's a bunch of models with wifi but not this fon... and its a direct competitor with lg cookie... some says that cookie is a bit better but for me its about the same as cookie the advantage of this is this will have a better price tag than lg

The comparison between the LG Cookie and the Samsung S5230 finished quite even too. Both handsets pack similar hardware and quite optimized touch software. While the Cookie comes with a document viewer, the S5230 offers more interface features - the Gesture lock, Photo contact manager and camera Smile shot. Still, our personal subjective opinion is that the Cookie is far better looking.
