i have monte.
& i have problem with install kies... moreHad the same problem and this fixed it. Its not KIES problem, its a bad Windows Media Player Install and requires a little bit to fix it. If you follow the instructions this will fix any usb device not connecting.
1) Go here: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40237.
2) Do what denis_mc_auliffe_ie user instructs (except to get the UMDF installer take a short-cut and simply use winzip/winrar to open the installer file. Then you can quickly get the UMDF installer).
High-Level:
Uninstall WMP 11 via Add Remove Programs
Download Windows Media Player 11 install file off the net. Then, get the UMDF installer out of the .exe file. Before running the installer, rename some existing system files----which were installed corrupted at the time of first WMP 11 installation.
Run the UMDF installer. Then reinstall WPM 11 (it won't overwrite the UMDF files)
Reinstall your mobile device software. No errors displayed. Plug-in your USB device.

hi!!
i have monte.
& i have problem with install kies 1.0.1xx,it was succesfully installed but when connect cell, it shows
"MTP device error"
what can i do?

I have been using the Samsung Monte for the past 3 days now and the performance has been quite good...can be a bit slow ocassionally but over all performance and experience is quite satisfying for the price I have paid....I have really liked the speed at which the browser plays You-Tube videos when connected to Wi-Fi (the browser is good and fast) and for tht matter the whole internet browsing experience has been good so far.Wud definitely recommend it...It wud be worth every penny u spend on this phone

noval, 14 Aug 2010I've just bought my Monte for 2weeks, but until now I can't... moresamsung monte has no video call feature though its has 3G and secondary camera

The phone is really good value for the price - very functional, good sound. The performance is a bit slow and the memory can't cope with all the programs and possibilities; the GPS is crappy and the camera could have been a bit better and with flash. Nokia 5530, which is a bit more expensive, is not as good though - no 3G, crashes a lot when browsing etc. Overall, I'm pretty glad I've bought this phone.

while using d cell nowadays even on opening applications it says not enuf resources close some infact der r nt even 2 apps workin 2gether it has bcum sumtyms very irritating............... plzz help

it's smart unlock is nice option but it doesn't have handwriting recognition option. samsung could easily give this option in this phone.

It's touch is good, but it support only 15fps video whereas nokia 5530 support 30fps. samsung could make it at least 30 fps. and about the resolution is 320*240 where nokia support more 640*360. almost double.

The only good thing on this thing versus the nokia 5530 is the design ang the capacitive touch screen its touch sensitivity is very good...

in every side nokia 5530 is better from this phone. at same price range. in nokia video quality is much better. and browsing is awesome. i am suffering purchasing this phone.

I have just purchased this phone before 3 days. and i observed that nokia 5530 is much better from this phone. have to face problem in browsing. and video quality is not good as nokia. maximum video format doesn't support on this phone.
