Can this phone use the GPS without a data plan? Or does it have to be online to work?
It works on Online means using data....

Its superb cellphone yaar bahot maza aayega use karne me mene sirf 7400/- purchase kiya ahmedabad se......very good performance in online movie or you tube.........Good phone by samsung....

In Australia the Monte is locked to Virgin for $99 on a prepaid service.I had a look and i was instantly in love wit the phone.
I am getting mine on ebay, unlock for $89.
It is a nice phone and I am so glad Samsung has finally add more colour themes to the phone. Once upon a time, Samsung uses the horrible orange colour theme all over the phone.

its dolphin browser wont download attachments from mail... it does not have qwerty keyboard on messaging..
front camera opens only on 3G coverage...

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2011We can download apps run succesfully on this mob pls sugestmostly the apps are not supported by this handset, even many of java apps also doesn't work on this set. but the java games run smoothly on this cell. overall its a good handset bt now a days many other samsung android phones r also available in market at nearly same rate. for eg. samsung galaxy pop. i refer u to buy pop instead of monte as android is a world ful of apps.

Anybody wanting qwerty keypad then flash your mobile with s5620jtjl2. There are lot of things that you can do with this phone. With price and features available this is the best phone. If somebody wish for android then better pay more and get galaxy series. No doubt you have to miss something according to price.
