IP Ratings: (Ingress Protection or International Protection) - The Ingress Protection rating system is a classification
system showing the degrees of protection from solid objects and liquids. The first number refers to the protection
against solid objects, normally dust in relation to testing Pocket PCs. If the first number is 0, there is no protection
provided. A number 5 refers to limited protection against dust. The number 6 is for total protection against dust.
The second number of the IP rating system refers to protection against liquids. A indicates no protection, while a
7 refers to protection against immersion between 15 centimeters and 1 meter.( meaning if your phone get submerged beyond 1 meter, that's too bad...)
hope it helps..

AnonD-13154, 29 Oct 2011Xperia active seems a better package than xcover. Got 1ghz... morei agree. also, i have seen SE Active take a dip with no issues except for the hardware buttons being accidentally pressed by the water. overall the test was convincing enough to see that SE active can swim (i mean take a dip).

For the phone (or any other phone) to be waterproof, the it has to be IP68, not IP67. IP68=waterproof; IP67 allows some water to get inside.

According to a video on youtube from an expo called 'expert expo' it will cost around ~288Eur (then again that might be just Finland). Personally I think that is a bit too expensive, but then again these specs are not final.
