Anonymous, 23 Nov 2009i'm sure the phone is 3G capable (my bro is using the 3g ne... moreWhat is the logo on your phone? "SAMSUNG" or "Anycall"? If it is SAMSUNG, it is imported from somewhere like Europe or Singapore and flashed with firmware for Mainland China. Therefore, it supports 3G network.

If your Jet supports 3G, that is not from the authorised dealer in China as China does not support 3G network. Your phone should be imported from Singapore or Europe and flashed with Chinese firmware.

If so, you can flash it without any problem. It still supports 3G network.

Maybe accelerometer only works with photo viewing in European firmware as there is a little difference between firmwares in Asia and Europe. Typing SMS supports auto rotate but not viewing SMS.

      again,

      my current firmware is S8000CZCIF8 and my bro get it from china.

      so is it possible to upgrade to the latest firmware "
      S8000XEII2"

      i fear that 3G capability will be lost after the upgrade.

      so please be adviced.
      anyone who have upgrade their own firmware to this latest one.

            why the accelerometer don't work in photo viewing and sms.

            in the gsmarena review,
            in photo viewing, the the phone is change from vertically to horizontally, the photo also rotate in same manner.
            in sms, when the phone is changed from vertically to horizontally, the QWERTY key pad will appear from normal numerical key pad.

            so advice me, these features are not persent in JET or only my bro's set is missing.

                Any idea how to get the DNLA software working so can connect wireless to PC to access folders.. Its called CONNECTED HOME I think in the manual

                    Jet S8000C from China is a 2G phone. It does not support 3G and is without front camera.

                        A)For people having Jet (S8003) follow the steps to get your Navigation app working on Samsung Jet
                        1) Tap the Keypad and enter Admin setting menu *#5239870*#
                        2) Tap the Internals options and enter Internal menu Master key *#7092463*#
                        3) Tap LbsApp which can be seen at the bottom as option 12 or so.
                        4) Tap Navigation and select the Enable option to enable it. Tap Save and then exit.
                        5) The phone may restart. After restart, you will see the Navigation option in Menu.
                        6) Download Route66 Sync software and install it on your PC.
                        7) After installing Route66 Sync on your PC, connect your Jet to your PC in 'Mass Storage' mode.
                        8) Start the Route66 Sync on your PC. It should detect your mobile phone.
                        9) Follow the procedure on http://www.66.com/samsung/inde...cat=2&scat=1
                        10) You will need to download maps for your region. Follow the procedure in mentioned in Route66Sync software support pdf.

                            my bro is using a jet which is bought 2 days a go.

                            camera perfect.
                            reception and phone call ok.
                            wi fi with ease.
                            battery normal.

                            only 1 problem
                            the phone change the photo by tilting the phone(i mean the accelerometer working),
                            but no screen auto-rotate either in viewing photos or in sms (so no qwerty key pad)
                            so where can i turn on the accelerometer feature for this function.

                            my firmware is (S8000CZCIF8)
                            so is this due to firmware or wrong menu option?
                            can this be solved by firmware upgrade?
                            my bro buy this from china, so can this phone work with latest firmware?

                              Hi there. I've had this phone for 4 days now and no problems until last night. For some reason when I try using a GPRS connection (web browsing, weather widget etc) then I get an error message saying unexpected error or network connection error. Anybody know what the issue could be? This worked fine until last night and if I choose to use a WiFi connection it works fine.
