for longer battery life u should choose MANUAL in 'select network' and choose specific GSM for ur phone in 'network mode'..

all this can be found in setting >> network settings

shud i get a jet ???, 04 Aug 2009so how does it differ frm a smartphone see this isnt 1 ???For me the diffs aren't many. But this only works for me since all I need is on JET (well not quite all but is getting there). Sure there are more apps for a WM phone or Symbian and if this is your case (need) then go for it. You will have more software to choose from. But notice that Java based phones like JET also have software available, you have a good place to start from at:

              http://www.getjar.com

Don’t start by asking about “differences”. You should not start from there otherwise you will always be tempted to buy the phone with all bells and whistles (which if fine for some people). Just ask your self what do I need on my phone? or What I really do with my phone? Make a list and then find your phone. If it matches JET then buy a JET if not go for something else.

If you think all this is rubbish, just buy one that has all, probably more expensive but more capable and future proof (well at least for a year or less).
Just don’t go along with marketing or techie talk…

Smartphones? Read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smartphone then make your own reasoning about JET.

i have the phone for 3 weeks now...

the only thing i can complain is not much space available for java software, and seems like it is not expandable.i installed 5 games and 3 software and seems to have not much space left. dunno whether any firmware upgrade can settle this cos if can i want many software inside my jet to fully utilize it's processing speed...

for other problems reported bu most of the bro here. i'm totally no problem with any of it, battery life is ok. my usage is around 2 hours of talktime per day and 30-50 sms per day, with some wifi and bluetooth usage and the battery last for 2 days. for me i'm ok with it, after all, it's only 1080mah batt... not the omnia hd 1500mah... that's make a difference. to save batt, turn the vibration to minimal, reduce the keypad voice, off bluetooth and wifi whenever is not needed. i believe that will help. btw, this is a multimedia phone with chunks of good graphic and sound, so you can expect bigger energy consumption. dun take batt for granted... if really want a good life battery, carry a car battery with you then... then you cast last it for months... haha..

here is the list of software I've added to my jet:

                                      - bbTracker
                                      - Compass
                                      - eBuddy
                                      - navigami
                                      - Opera

Tryed other software but it was addware so I've removed it.

The only problem I had twice was battery going from 80% to 0% in day until found the problem. After running a few java programs seams to me that after quiting something was left running. Solved it by going taskmanager and pressing END ALL APPLICATIONS after running any java stuff. Not sure about the problem, but I was messing around with some java gps software and probably when I quit something was still running… GPS? java?
