How do I get the GPS to work. I get the satellites but not a fix in google maps so I just get within 500 meters of the nearest cell tower.

To all the S8000 users:
Do you think I'll be able to use the s8000 to listen to music for 9hours?
I'll be ridding myself of my iPod 5th Gen, and I just want to know if this mobile can accompany troughout my 9hour shift. ^_^
Battery Life is very important to me.

This works fine for me. Long press on URL, in context menu, do add to bookmarks or open in new window. Once page is opened, you can add to rss from option menu.

hi guiz. I got diz phne 1 week ago and all i can say is dis phne is awsome! i was plannin to get d n97 but i heard a lot of bad thngs bout it and dcided to take samsun jet and yes! Itz simple yet brilliant!
The touchscreen is really good and u dnt have 2 push it hard jux to function, jux tap it an voila! Lolz. Itz very fast az well! The camera is lukin gud! The desgn at d bck is really good and the battery life is up to 3 to 4 daiz. It really dpends how u use it. Lol. 1 thng i really hate bout samsun jet is it has only 2gb. Lolz. But overall, its brilliant and cool gadget! Thanx

Own Jet S8000 for two weeks and these here are my comments:
Positive:
- Phone size, just perfect.
- PC Sync works. I've been using it for images, music and Outlook contacts and no prob.
- V.Good UI, large, fast and very usable. High usability and user-friendly.
- Very fast phone no long waiting, 17s startup (until pin). You may notice a less than a sec lag when viewing large photos. Everything else runs fast.
- A good example of internet browsing on a mobile phone. Still some glitches (copy and paste) but really good, love the press to zoom feature and full qwerty keyboard. Yes Java and flash are there no problems;
- Yes you can watch youtube videos both mobile and desktop versions with no problems just zoom to fit;
- Screen keeps amazing me, for its quality and response time. For everyone talking about daylight, just set screen brightness to AUTO, makes it very usable (not top notch as nokia E51).
- Touch screen is very good; I would say one of the best I've tried. Don't understand few people neg comments on this one, for me a good touch screen is one that is fast and has an accurate touch. If you have doubts go to a store and try it. A good test is to open a webpage zoom out and try to tap on the small URL, you will be amazed with the accuracy.
- Battery is very good, 3/4 days and still playing around with jet above normal.
- Yup you can add new apps (jar/jad) if memory is avail. Check www.getjar.com and use tkfileexplorer.
- Has all I need, now that I added eBuddy for IM.
Negative:
- Some widgets just make no sense. What is the use of additional clock widgets when there is already a clock all the time on the top of the screen?
- Some widgets are just an URL that opens internet browser. Why not just one simple favorites widget?
- Cube interface could be user configurable.
- Motion-activaded action only available for Gate applications.
- Memory management. You can't (or I missed something) increase shared memory, which is by default 500MBytes. Phone has 2GB memory arranged the following way:
Shared memory - 506,641K
(Used for Multimedia Messages, Email, Games and more, Exchange ActiveSync)
My Files - 1,510,659K (images, videos, sounds and other files)
You can add an 8 or 16GB memory card and change default memory for Wap downloads, Bluetooth, Camera, Voice recorder and FM Radio. But still I don't know how to increase shared memory.
- Phonebook photos must reside on phone memory and not directly from memory card.
- After downloading 1 widget I get message saying that I can’t add more widgets? Anyone?
MINOR BUGS:
- Fake call does not disable. If you keep vol down pressed it will always start fake call even if you have disabled it. Minor BUG?
- Can't copy and past url to rss. You need to enter full address, this is boring. BUG
- Exchange sync works fine, but after moving a message to trash you can't move it from there.
- PC Sync software has some minor bugs in Update firmware window. Keeps reporting new firmware available even with latest firmware installed.

To Liz:
If I were you and have already been satisfied with the features of the iPhone - you are ok to accept the inferior cam resolution and the lack of features like an FM Radio or DIVX support - I would definitely go with the new 3GS from Apple... they now what they are doing, have a great App Store, etc.
Maybe, it's not the greatest hardware they have introduced with the new phone, but it works as it should. Samsung on the other hand, use hardware with great specs which although is useless without the support of the right software - which isn't present (at least yet)...

I am also considering this S8000 Jet so in what aspects Omnia wins over Jet? Please be specific, with as many details you can.

I know this model was released in the Philippines already. But only in Manila if I'm not mistaken.
does anybody know when this gadget will be available in other places in the Philippines? Specifically in Baguio??
and I want to know the exact price for cash(2GB,8GB) in Peso...

i just try this phone today in a cell shop here in super mall.. the screen not so responsive if you hit in your thumb deeply.. and i know its not a capacitive screen.. the screen color its nice but there a laggy if you go to the menu.. thats all.. i try also the LG arena.. jet is cheaper than the arena.. the touch of the arena even if you in ur thumb its nice.. a piercing zooming in picture in arena that jet dont have.. that's all.. but lastly its defend on you what you wll gonna buy.. cheers

People who own this phone already, please give me your honest views (honest also means serious) I can't decide whether to upgrade to iphone 3gs (I have 3g already) or to try this beauty. It'll be 24 month contract so you understand why I want to be absolutely sure.
-How easy it is to sync it with computer? (transfer music/pics/videos from phone to pc)
-What's the battery life like?
-What's the calling quality like (reception/loudness ect)?
-What's the camera/ recording quality like?
