i am getting this phone next week but not sure whether i can log on to windows messenger or msn with this phone.

Price is ... moreit's dubbed smarter than smartphone because usually modem processor in any other phone including smartphone is 300mhz processing OS+apps+calls+GPRS/3G, while 200-300mhz multimedia processor taking cares video and camera.
while this one, there's modem who only taking cares calls+GPRS/3G while the processor taking cares the rest. and 800 mhz. and thus resulting in much faster performance.
so 1. it's way to think is more simpler
2. their processor is faster that 99% other phone

The phone was launched in Singapore this weekend. Price is about S$698 (w/o contract). Had a go at the phone in the Samsung Showroom. Very unintuitive and a load of crap.
Its being potrayed as smarter than a smart phone. I think the simple plain fact is, its NOT a SMARTPHONE at all. No proper OS, pricey, nothing jazzy about the features, no applications to download (limited to what u get out of the box). Promotes Exchange Active Sync but its useless since you can search for contacts from your directory.
Probably wait n see Omnia HD and Omnia II. If those too come out mediocre, Samsung is doomed for failure this year. They have a lot to learn from HTC and Nokia on Windows and Symbian.
Seriously, don't buy this online, go and check it out first. I'm sure there's more than meets the eye.
Very dissapointed and useless!

well, yes, unfortunately sew995 can't play films I can see....and it is wider (4mmm.)...shhh
But you can put themes, anythign into it

anyone know how emailing and office documents works?
can it sync with your outlook? can it open and edit doc, xls, pdf?
if it can do this, dang this phone is perfect~
i need a phone replacement badly and i hope this is the one. specs are just right. looking for hands on review soon from gsmarena.

oh man! having hard time of which is better to buy.. this samsung jet or the samsung pixon12.. they're both amazingly perfect! samsung #1!

i think Jet will be cheaper compared to Pixon 12, coz the latter has 12 mpixel camera with xenon flash.

I'm in doubt wich kind of applications will run in this phone.... maybe just JAVA? What about pdf, windons office files, zip files, etc... WHat about VoIP? It has built-in SIP client? Runs Skype? MSN?

On the second phone already first had display problems after just 12hrs (lines across bottom of screen just like a graphic card on last legs)
The google maps software is pants copared to my mates version on a 5800 nokia!!!
The phone is supposed to have Navigation by Route 66 but NONE supplied you have to go to 66.com and download the sync software then the maps, UK is 307mb and took 3hrs (not my fault) their server is wind up speed
Apart from this and poor battery life, camera and video are great, the motion gate ie cube function is pathetic in operation its easier to use the touch version which does the same!!!LOVE the other functions i.e multiple screens, use of widgets, very quick to use.
