It's an alright phone... I can pick more cons then pros for it unfortunately...
Pros: Excellent camera quality, battery life and display resolution. It is also quite simple to use and it is a nice size to use.
Cons: It is slow to respond when you want to access the menu, especially when trying to access you're photo's or music. When you take a call for some reason the mute button is right in the top/middle of the screen, so you are forever muting the call on random occasions (I understand it may just be the way I hold the phone when I take a call but I am sure others have the same issue) and the touch screen is very slow to respond when you want to do something is a hurry. It was also quite expensive when it came out in Australia.

Its nice, the camera is realy good, the video is also good. but the sound of the video recording is bad, u can try this, try to record a video with loud sounds, ul see, thats one negative with the S8300

I've had one for 18months and i love it. the only thing i don't like is it doesn't have wifi but the camera is fantastic. best camera ive ever had even better then digital cameras i've had. I am in the market for a new phone only because i've had this one for so long and really want wifi but because of the camera i'm not sure what to go.. i'm thinking maybe to nokia n8 but nokia's dont have a good rep at the moment due to software issues. Anyone got any ideas

Im using this phone for about 10months. i have to say im quite satisfied with it.But if it had a better battery and a wifi then it would've been the best phone ever with such price tag.

Best camera I have ever experienced on a mobile phone, zoom is very nice, it seems optical not digital, very good contrast at photos.

it is a wonderful phone it is a little...heavy but...i don^t like a thing...the batttery sucks.......i charge him and..in 24 hours....empty battery.....in rest a good phone beautifol

Everyone with problems with their Samsung UltraTouch, maybe you should look at the service provider you have, and stop blaming the phone... Get over it, this phone is amazing!

another thing i must not 4get to add is tat samsung services suck... as much as i lov my s8300 as a fon... its been in the box for over 3 months now!! somthing went wrong with its strip after a fall and the samsung service store just cud not fix it with the simple reason tat the spares are not available in india and now my fon is on a tour to DUBAI!!! man if this is the kind of service samsung offers then i might hav to rethink before i buy my next fon... trust me i lov this fon but the after sales of samsung SUKS BIG TIME!!!

Jean, 31 Aug 2010Should I take the nokia 5230 or the samsung s8300 ultra? pl... moredude i wud advice u to swap. i hav an s8300 ... n i shud tel u tat i am mor than satisfied with it... the camera and screen clarity are unmatched by any nokia set i must say... u wil lov it... infact i hav yet to c a fon to match it ! n mind it i hav changed handsets a hell lot to make such a conclusion tat this is a gr8 fon
