The keypad would be wonderful. The only drawback to touchscreen phones is the difficulty of texting compared to 'good' text phones like the Nokia E66. Once you have used those types of phones, a touchscreen phone will just not do the trick for the keen texter.

What I find most concerning is the price. At 550 euro, even with an 8MP camera, it cannot justify no WiFi and poor battery life. What is wrong with phone companies? Otherwise good phones always lack just ONE OR TWO important things...

the battery life could be better... with all those rich features, well at least Samsung should provide 1.200 mAh.

I read in another review that:

"All texting is done via the on-screen keyboard, which is almost identical to that of conventional looking handsets...."

Does this mean you CANNOT write text messages (SMS) using the hardware keypad, and that you have to use the "touch" on-screen keyboard?

            Can anyone verify this?

I have seen a few YOUTUBE video's that demonstrate a poor touchscreen performance, can anyone tell me from their experiance of the "pre-release" if this is true?

                Many thanks

I'm currently studying Marketing so it's really interesting for me to observe this mobile phone companies fight for their market share. Anyway, why is there no new "ultra flip"?? There is a "Bar", "Slide", and "Touch" but no "Flip"

Price in Thailand is 18900 bahts (430 euros) when Pixon is 18500 bahts (16900 in some shops). So I guess Pixon is a better choice with the big screen and classy looks.

guys you saying that the LG is better? yah i think base on specs i totally agree Wifi and mulitouch of course nobody ca argue with that but just wait until when the units are released. the LG will defenitely be a lot more expensive so we cant compare it yet.

and i think the top of the line release for LG is the KM900 and the top of the line for samsung is the OmniaHD so it's really unfair to compare KM900 versus S8300... instead try comparing KM900 with i8910 OmniaHD i be glad to hear what you can say... no offense just my opinion.

Man can argue over which looks better. The LG's has yet to be tested, so we don't know how good that see-thru keypad actually works. I have yet to see anything offical that say's it has WI-FI. I'll wait till the both of them have been tested & we know what each costs before I make an INFORMED judgement!
