Samsung's software chief Sally revealed some interesting tidbits about the company's latest One UI 7.0 Android overlay in a recent post on the company's website. She said that the Korean tech giant has been developing One UI 7.0 for the last two to three years. Unfortunately, some features require more modern hardware to run, so some functionalities won't be available on older Galaxy phones.

One of those features is Now Brief. It shows relevant information based on the time of day and helps you keep up with your schedule. However, to run, Now Brief relies on Samsung's Personal Data Engine, which requires serious number crunching by a powerful NPU. That's because it's not a cloud-based functionality.
The Circle to Search feature, on the other hand, requires mostly cloud resources, so older and budget-friendly devices can support it.
The interview doesn't explicitly mention other features, probably because Samsung is still working on bringing as many as possible. Only time will tell which ones will remain exclusive to the most recent flagships.
