i have a samsung d600, and i recently bought this Serene.
its a very, very, very clasy looking handset. for people like me who are in Suits all the time, it doesnt get any better. I also have a nokia 8801. The Serene is a bit more expensive (at the current price) but if you see it in person, and open the flip, you'll understand why. The D600 has good build, but has the occasional creak in its casing, this however doesnt happen with the serene,
I must emphasize. Comparing to a D600, which costs 2.5 times less, the features of this Serene is rubbish. The camera (VGA), no audio player etc. But for people like me, who look for sheer style, It doesnt get better than the Serene.
For the people speaking rubbish about its functions have not yet seen for felt the Serene in hands- for this phone, functions is irrelivant.

The price just not justify this phone. Yes, good looking but I think more needed to have been offered. B&O is having a laugh.it doesnt't have to be this way. But I still love you guys

Dear all, i am thinking of buyinga serene phone for my dad.the only reason is that i heard it has a large display,he has a problem seeing the name of whoever is calling....please advice

This is a great phone for those people Samsung/B & O try to target in their little niche.
Businessman don't care about sms, at least, in the Netherlands less then 3% of all business phone traffic is devoted to other servies then speech. So a crappy keyboard is no problem, as long as you can quickdial!
Ringtones, Mp3's, hightech camera's, forget all that, who uses it anyway, certainly not the ever busy manager. Less is more in perspect of features and options.
This phone is sophisticated, classy, exclusive and expensive. Just about the four things it is, or pretends to be all about in the upperclass of our society. If you don't like it, you're not one of them. I'm not one of them, but still appriciate this extraordinary piece of innovative design.
However, as a phone for daily use by regular consumers it's of course way to expensive and lacking feautures. I would never buy it, except at a moment were the price was my last concern.
Thing I do wonder about; Is there a car-accessoire for handsfree-calling? Is interaction with PDA's possible?

Latest & modern Tecnology + Style has always a price. I Bought Serene yesterday & I am really in love with it. Its small, Stylish & elegant. Its Screen size, display colors And the camera quality is unlike any other phone ever mage. The image quality & colors are higher than even mega pixel camera. Wow! Wish there was just extra memory & brushed alluminium body. Well still perfect!!!!

why is this phone so expensive is it because it does not have wallpaper, screensaver, memory slot, downloadable ringtones, voice dial oh i know because it doesnt have a speakerphone . what is samsung thinking if i was the company i would fire all the creative minds that wasted their time on this phone. the fact that the phone opens automatically when in the charger is totally useless without a speaker this is at most $150.00 phone qwithj a $13oo.00 name attached

Its a nice phone i have to say but it aint samsungs fault B&O are da ones that refused da megapixel camera and infra-red and no external memory B&O ruined a great phone

You need a mobile ? u can get millions of them u need DIGITAL camera ? millions u can get them all over
But there is just one SERENE just one u need to feel it to andestand i will give up any phone for this one and i did
look is just like this or u hate it or u love it

as far as i'm concerned, design is definitely unique, don't really think B&O/Samsung thought about the usability issue for this model. Just speaking about dialing a number, it's easy to dial a number using one hand and finger with common keypads, for this one i'm not too sure, since the numbers are so far apart.
as far as i'm concerened, those that buy this phone due to it's exclusive design and repeatedly justifying it's riduclous high price and that they can afford by demeaning others who can't - that's an inferority complex. even buying this won't compensate for your small .....shoe size
