Samsung to roll out 5G update to eligible devices in India next month, Apple in December
Samsung announced today it will push an OTA update to all its 5G smartphones in India by mid-November. Apple also confirmed a similar update is coming, and it will hit iPhones in December.
The information comes after a meeting in India attended by government executives such as the Telecom secretary and the MeitY secretary. Smartphone makers were asked to push updates, enabling the 5G services on devices that can work on standalone (SA) 5G networks.
The message from a spokesperson read that Samsung has the widest portfolio of 5G devices in the Asian country and the company is working “closely with operator partners” to enable Indian consumers to experience 5G seamlessly.
This will allow users of said phones to enjoy the next-gen connectivity, currently provided by two major carriers - Airtel and Reliance Jio.
Airtel 5G Plus is currently running in eight Indian cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur and Varanasi. Reliance Jio is currently in a beta trial stage in four cities - Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi and its True 5G services will be available in these metro areas first.

Will suing help? I think these companies consider all legal precautions and loopholes while releasing device only, plus they have their dedicated teams for such issues.
