hey just got this phone, still trying to figure out all the features. I got it paired to my moto h700 bluetooth, but can the phone play music via bluetooth headset? has anyone tried? my last 8801 could, which made it easy to listen to music

---A kind of different Question about U600---

What kind of batteries does it support?

Can i use batteries from any other Samsung-cellphone, also in my new Samsung U600?

And are there different kind of "powered" batteries, that have longer stamina? (like 690MAH / 900MAH etc!) That fits the U600?

      Someone.. that knows, please respond!

Personnally i find it most easy to open the slider to accept a call, and shut the slider to end it. Simple

                1. can you set favourite numbers like in SE for a contact? Ie not necessarily the mobile is the default number

Answer:.. Well if you mean an entry on each "contact" where you can type in different numbers, adress, birthday etc.. So Yes you can do that on Samsung U600!

                2. Can you select from different phonenumbers when you send a text to a contact? Previous samsungs could also send text to the mobile number, but ofthe my frds have 2 mobiles and had to type in manually the number when wanted to send it to both mobiles. sucks.

Answer:.. If u have 1 contact with mulitple phonenumbers, you can choose to wich u would want to send sms /mms! You don't have to type in the phonenumber by hand...

I have a BIG question about Samsung!

Do anyone tried to connect a Samsungphone to a GPS-receiver - thru Bluetooth??!

                    Is this possible at all?
And what program should i run?
Also, someone in Sweden that can help me out?

                      Also to:.. Arjan!

The thing is that when you are making a call and are on the phone, the "touch-screen" is becoming locked, so that you wont accidently hang-up by presing the phone to your cheek.

I realy enjoy this little thought, because the sensitive touch-buttons can easily activate when you're on the phone..!

To:... Arjan (who posted comment earlier)

YES ofcourse you can set the "navigation-key" to differens tasks in the phone..

Like "left" -> adress-book.. and so on..
there should be no problem. Just like in SE later phones this is realy useful.. i can have my txt-msg menu applied to the right, calender to the left, phonebook to downkey!

                        Hope this helps!

Regarding hanging up a call: Though it says in the manual that pressing [i] during a call will hang up, that is incorrect. Whether the slider is up or down during the call, the [i] button will only unlock (and not hangup). So hanging up requires TWO operations : press either the [POWER] or the [i] button, and then press the hangup key.
This is midly annoying - I hope they come up with a fix for it. Other than this, phone is great though the touch keys take a while getting used to.

To Lee, the 4 button options on the top where the screen is should be touch sensitive, the keypad however is not. It's similar to the motorola razrs where it seems flat but you can push in. I can be wrong but that's what I felt in the dummy phones in the shops.

Wow, great Hi-res screen and easy GUI! There's for instance not much difference in complexity between creating an SMS or an MMS!

Indeed, it's hard to avoid touching the screen (or other buttons) when sliding, but I want to buy a leather thingy anyway ;-)

The keys take some getting used to, but once you do are quite good for my taste (clear pressure feedback), only I guess there are some minor bugs in the T9 implementation. Being very critical, another bug I found is that 'hanging up' the phone by pressing C doesn't work under all circumstances (nothing a small firmware upgrade can't fix).

Oh, did I forget to mention the Bang&Olufsen Audio-quality? Hint: select Jazz-equalizer settings for really excellent MP3-playback quality. By the way, I'm only talking about playback using the supplied (relatively simple) headset now! Oh, and I was amazed by the FM-radio (I'll be throwing my old Sony audio-system out of the window as soon as I've bought me a stereo bluetooth headphone).

The camera-pictures seem to of a significantly better quality than the D900 (different lens?), didn't like the flash much though...

The combination of design and functionality makes me go on and on fooling around: just installed the Java-version of google/maps for fun (great resolution and contrast, so I will never get lost anymore), but you could even use the U600 to make a phonecall once in a while :-)

Hello i just tested this phone today and found it a great phone apart from one thing which i hope u600 users can help before i buy.

when the phone is closed you make a call by pressing power to unlock the keypad and then you hit the touch sensitive buttton the right one for contacts list and then select and make a call, When your finished you hit the[i] button to unlock the phone and then hit the hangup key, The phone goes back to the main menu screen but heres the problem the touch sensitive buttons do not activate thay are not even there on the main screen as the sensitive buttons are locked so that i can not make another call from the contact list i have to press the power button again twice i think or have to press the hard buttons like the voulume or dpad to get the touch sensitive buttons to come up on the main menu again so i can enter the contact list

so can you change the touch sensitive right button to open the calender and then change the down on the dpad to contact list as this would be better then i can just access my contact list from the dpad instead of the touch sensitive buttons as this would stop me unlocking the pad again if i want to make more than 1 call

so change the right sensitive button from contacts and change it to open clander

and change the dpad down which is set to open calander and change that to contacts

can this bee done ????????? I need to know if you can set this upo this way

                                can ayone help me

also can you change any of the buttons to do things like that on the main screen

also whne you get a text and the phone is closed how do you read it do you press the {i} button to unlock and then hit another button to read it or do you have to press the power button

can anyone help me tonghit as i might get this phone tommorow

                                thanks for any help

theh touch screen thingymewhatsit is sooooooo annoying!! HOW many times have I deleted a text just before sending by just casually waving my thumb vaguely near the far too touch sensitive button. HOW many times have I logged on to the web browser when I didnt want to? HOW many times have I sworn at the bloody thing and regretted the day I was ever seduced by its sleek design and oh so cool image!! Give me a brick any day! lol
