It just feels like a cheap pie... moreI bought this phone as soon as it appeared on the market in my country and I'm still using it(that would be almost two years of usage).To me,it is the best looking phone ever and I'm pretty satisfied with its functions,too.After a bit more of one and a half year of using it,the flat cable and the slider mechanism still work perfectly.That is not "next to impossible",it is only a matter of care.I don't know what you've done to your phone but you obviously didn't take care of it at all.If you throw it,smash it or do something similar,of course it will brake but so would many other phones as they aren't made to sustain large amounts of physical damage.For those of you that do not take good care I recommend buying some other phone.
My screen is also in perfect condition,no loss of pixels,just few minor scratches on its surface.There is a tweak with the screen,though.It is hard to use it under direct sunlight due to the reflective surface of the screen(it has a high-contrast sunlight mode which makes it slightly more usable under direct sunlight).
The camera does take a while to shoot,but it's worth it as the picture quality is great(in daylight,when shooting in dark it's lower).Video quality is great,too.
As for the memory card,it is very slow.I avoid using it for pictures and videos because it opens them very slowly(I measured 11 seconds to open a folder full of high quality pictures,about 4 seconds to open a picture).It opens music faster.
Touch sensitive keys aren't bad.Upper keys blink when you press them,so you know you pressed them.When you press the call key,the phone automatically locks down so you can't accidentally end call by touching the end key.You can accidentally touch the end key and exit the menu,application or whatever you were doing,but if you get used to the touch sensitive keys,that will rarely happen.
The bluetooth service works good on my phone,I had no problems with it.If you have problems with bluetooth headsets,you can always use wired headsets.
Reception-no problem.
The covers are quite good and show no problems.
The phone's speaker isn't very loud,but it has excellent audio quality.
My battery holds on for three days of average usage,but if you listen to music,play games or use the camera a lot it will drain the battery within a day.
Not once during these almost-two years have I had problems with phone's software.It worked well and there wasn't any sing of strange behaviour.Perhaps you got a flawed phone.
All in all,it is quite a looker,and has decent performance.It's not perfect,but it quotes high enough in my opinion.You should know,however,that the primary purpose of this phone is fashion.At the time it came out,it was the best fashion phone in terms of performance.Being a fashion phone,it also demands a certain type of users.This means that all those who do not take good care of their phones and submit them to physical damage should seek for a more resistant phone and those that seek excellent performance(if you want all the goodies symbian and windows mobile phones have)should seek among smartphones.If you like a good looking phone with a good camera and music player,and need a document viewer,than this is the phone for you.

This phone is total garbage. It just feels like a cheap piece of junk and operates as one as well. I feel sorry for anyone who has yet to experience this piece of crapola. This phone is nearly two years old, hardly top-of-line, actually it is quite cheap these days. ANd for good reason, what you think you are buying is not what you are really getting. This phone is seemingly feature rich yet you will never use the features you will never do anything with this phone other than constantly be perplexed by how mediocre it is. Those of you who think it is a great phone, obviously have no experience with cell phones. This phone can and will break at the first chance it gets. Finding people who have had this phone fully functional for even a year is next to impossible. Everything from the cheap plastic screen cover, the the flimsy plastic body is second rate and starts to feel as if it is compromised very quickly. I have never seen a phone that mars so quickly, and the screen is very delicate and easy to break. The screen also starts to lose pixels at an alarming rate. The slide mechanism is adequate but not robust as with many other "high quality" sliders. This phone is nothing more than a large compromise of everything so that Samsung could boast at the time that it was so thin and light and was the slimmest 3mp camera when it was released. The camera takes literally three seconds to take a picture. Reading anything from the memory card can take as long as twenty seconds per file! The touch sensitive keys will either drive you insane or leave you with a bas taste in your mouth as it could have been implemented far better with decent firmware. The bluetooth configuration on this phone is the worst that I have ever seen in my life. Using the bluetooth with a headset can prove extremely dangerous to your health as you need to unlock the phone which is a two step process, accept the pair and the confirm you are accepting the pair with your headset. It is bizarre. No phone jack port, the usb cover is not well implemented either. Another issue is how this phone behaves, and you have to learn how it behaves. You will have many glitches and strange shut-offs before you figure out how to "keep the phone stable". And even then, it will surprise you how poorly thought out it is. Another HUGE issue with this phone is the terrible reception. I compared this phone to countless phones: Motorola V8, V9, V3i, KRZR, Nokia 8850, 6280 and some others and this phone by far has the worst reception of any phone. You have been warned. The battery is the worst on any phone ever made most likely. You wont believe how bad the battery is until you start using it.

Absolutly hate this phone ive had it about three months then it said insert sim card and wouldnt accept the sim card so orange exchanged it and you ring people all the time for no reason because the touch is so sensitive and the battery is a joke i mean 2 days at least and god forbid you use the bloody thing!, if you want some advice dont get this phone get one with a much bigger battery!

I have had this phone for a year now and no problems with it at all, fell out of my pocket a couple of time and still keeps working. Its the best samsung i have had, others may differ but that is my opinion.
