i think, it's better than u700. it has message alert downloadable sounds unlike the u700. i wish i had bought the u600. my friend has it and i thought the u700 would be more upgrade than that of the u600...wrong....u600 has the usual samsung user friendly... im confused with the u700

I have had this phone for almost two months now.. I accidentally dropped it three times already and Good thing It is still working like new.. (just passed the drop test.. wonder what would happen on the fourth one..hehehe!)
One thing I noticed though, is that the slider became wobbly even before the accidental falls.. must be because of the frequent sliding.

Vipress, your comments are short sided. I don't know what other phones you have owned in the past, or had the distinction of using but the Samsung U600 is something the looks great on paper. And granted, in person it is quite a sexy, sleek device. But the reality of this phone is that it is simply not for the masses. It is not for the Razr crowd that got tired of the lack of features Motorola insists on putting out. I have owned many phones in just the past four years. I tend to go through many phones until I find one that strikes me to the point that I cannot use anything else. I have used the Motorola v600, v620, v635, v3x, v3i (itunes), 2 D&G V3i's (one unbranded one T-Mobile) & a Nokia 8801, not too mention this Samsung U600 (my current phone is the Razr2 V8 t-mobile version). I have used extensively the Motorola Krzr K1, L6, L7 & a Razr2 V9. I bought this phone because I wanted something sleek but with high end features. What I got was a fragile, light little phone that is not built to the caliber and pedigree that I was sued to from the much more robust Motorola counterparts I have used. Your comments about the touch keys barely even graze the surface of what does not make using this phone such a great experience. Never mind the length that it takes to take a picture, which is unacceptable despite the auto focus. The truth of the matter is that the bluetooth configuration on this phone is downright dangerous. After five minutes of not using the headset the phone disbonds from the phone. So when I get a call, the phone recognizes the headset, but makes me physically have to pick up the phone, unlock the keys, press the yes button to bond with the headset, and than asks me if I am sure, to which I must select yes again? Did you ever try turning on the speakerphone? Every other phone on Earth with a speakerphone has direct, instant one-button access to the speakerphone. This phone does not even allow you to chose from the menu (to reach the speakerphone function) until the other end picks up? That is insane. And these issues cannot be resolved by any configuration of the phone. This is the normal on singular process on the phone. The battery has to be charged every day, sometimes even sooner. Let's talk about the phones reception or lack there of. The reception on this phone in marginal areas will be lackluster at best. I have made several on sight comparisons between the U600 and the Motorola Razr V3i and Krzr k1. Unfortunately the difference was quite significant, so much so that I found myself carrying the U600 and the V3i at the same time.

i have the samsung u600 and i have had it for 6 - 7 months now... its a great little phone for a samsung and i have no idea why people slag it off so much.
1 - the touchscreen buttons, if you know how to use them they are fine... if you dont and ur plain stupid then yeah your going to find it hard there touch sensitive so if ur playing a game or writing a text and you touch them then guess what? they will take u to another screen or ultimatly delete or end what your doing... theres a lesson in this.. BE CAREFUL!
2, memory, i find in this phone is very good i like to have good memory as i like a variety of ringtones... and i feel this samsung unlike others is very good for memory...
3, camera - its is a 3.2 mp and it is v.good to take pictures yes it can take sometimes a little while for the pictures to load or take but you know its a phone? u want good pictures buy a damn diggy camera!
the only bad thing that i could say about the phone is the battery isnt fantastic it will last a day and a half or so but as long as u pop it on charge for an hour each day or so b4 you go to bed your be fine...
This phone is fine if u know how to use it you will enjoy it ... believe me you just need a bit of common sense and patience!

For Shery:
Yes it does have vibrate. When its silent it vibrates also when you recieve a message. Depends how you set it, if its melody or vibrate.

Had this fone for about 3 months now, works fine....u get over the touch keys and the camera delay afta a while...kinda just like when you get a different fone to the one you had before, it takes a while to get used to. Battery is been fine, I put mine on charge every 3-4 days. Only problem i noticed was when transfering video from fone to pc...i lose the sound. Has this happened to anybody else and if so how did u get it sorted. Help.
Peace n Love
Aii.

Hi there.
I have this phone and i think its really amazing, i simply love it. I have a question: When the 2 top touch sensitive buttons are touched do they switch off? I would like to know just to check if all mobiles are like this.

This phone is horrendous...I have been a big fan of samsung for years. This phone is very stylish but the biggest problem is the battery life. The camera also takes long to capture a portrait, and mine (yes I have this phone) is currently experiencing software problems. Enough said

iv had this phone for almost 7 months and the touch screen buttons are to sensative when playing games or making a text msge they always get in the way and end the game or txt and you have to start all over again?!
if you drop it will get chipped and it WILL
flake!-FACT, the camera is absolute crap for a 3.2mp? i really dont understand how it is 3.2mp i had a 2mp phone before the u600 and the quality of the pictures are so much better with the 2mp phone? im no expert but the camera on a phone is not all about how many mp it holds, it cant be after seeing the differance between the two! i wouldnt recomend this phone to anyone.

Looks great! Feels great! Wors fine mostly, BUT - if you are looking for a decent camera phone FORGET IT! Once you press the button to take a pic you have to wait 5+ seconds for it to actually capture it! Useless!
