Singapore - I'm now the proud and delirously happy owner of the gorgeous U700 and I'm absolutely loving it!
I'm pleased to report that the slider works perfectly well (no rattling nor wobbling), the volume of the ringing/message/alarm tone is loud enough (this is coming from someone who's real fussy about this bit) and the touch keys work like a dream (not overly sensitive nor retarded).
My only complaints (so far):
(1) The keypad is of the "tic tac toe" grid design version, and not the one shown in the pic of this forum. Perhaps that's only for European market? I really wish the keypad is of the latter design...it looks so much better.
(2) The Caller ID image is ridiculously t-i-n-y. I was looking forward to having a full-screen Caller ID since the screen of this phone is large enough...only to be majorly disappointed when a teeny weeny square appeared. Anyone knows if there's any way around this problem? Can it be customised to full screen?
(3) There are like just 20 tones for both ringtones and SMS - out of which only 3 are music to the ears (in my humble opinion).
(4) It's all too easy to get fingerprints all over the shiny screen...but a good wipe with tissue papers can solve the problem. Does anyone know if there are screen protector specifically made for U700? I called up the local Samsung headquarter and they said no.
(5) There seems to be only one colour (orange) for the highlighted sections. Again, anyone knows if I can change that?
(6)Photos are automatically saved in Landscape format even if they were taken in Portrait view. You need to go to "Edit" to rotate it and save it as another file.
That's it for now...will report back again when I've explored it further!

PLEASE help! I need to sync my U700 with Outlook 2007 but my schedule for the day appears in the sequence that the appointment was put in the Calendar & NOT in the sequence of the time of the appointment. Samsung tell me that it is because I am using Outlook 2007 & that it is OK with 2003. Your view (or help) please!

Got this phone and its terrific but bad in certain areas.
+ Beautiful elegant design
+ Has a cool feature where u can create a custum slide show of your own pics as a wallpaper
+ Great bright display
+ Nice camera under good lighting
some minuses
- My version did not include any Java games at all. What's up with that?
- The phone can sometimes feel cheap and plasticky
- You really need to get used to the touch sensitve keys.
- Here in the americas the voicemail icon doesnt go away if you use cingular/at&t.
- Horrible video recording.
Overall, the phone is nice but it has issues just like any other phone.
I recommend it if you into fashion phones with a little kick.

I've recently purchased this phone. I love it but I'm having a bit of problem ^^ I had d900i before, and its music player didn't close when I closed the phone, but U700 exits all application when I close the phone. Any ideas? What I'm asking is how do you minimize the music player so that I can close it while the music's still playing?

For those with a U700, how good is the music player in comparison to those of Sony Ericsson phones? I'm having a hard time deciding between T650 or the U700.
How's the battery life too? Can it comfortably last for more than two days?

Even though i've had the Samsung U700 for a day, it is the best phone i've ever had! It looks awesome, feels sturdy and has good features. Camera is very clear and takes very good pics. The auto focus is handy and works well. Esp when you have a shaky hand like me!
It's the best looking phone on the market and from what i've heard A LOT better then the LG Shine.
Only thing I've noticed is i can't use files from my PC as ringtones. Does anyone know any way around this? That would be great thanks!
Also i would'nt recommend getting this phone if you want a loud music player. The highest volume is pretty dismal.
Love the phone!

But the specifications on this website say it is 40mb. Which one is correct?

I heard that they found problems with the U600, i think that they are pretty much the same, but U700 is jus the upgrade, better more efficient version! i ordered it yesterday, cant wait to get it!
