Matt, 30 Dec 2009Hello, i am really considering getting this phone and it lo... moreThe cheapest way to grab one is eBay. At the moment, many are priced around £230-250. Really bargains.

Matt, 30 Dec 2009Hello, i am really considering getting this phone and it lo... moreHi!!

Well if this is a great phone? yes! One of the best, but!! there's a catch!
I like this phone and i am getting well with it because i am not using it as a Social network like 360º are saying to use it! I blocked it from those craps!
THen I dont use to sync email...if i want that i have a laptop or wifi and use the web browser instead of sync accounts, witch has a lots of bugs, it makes the phone slower ...I use it only as multimedia , movies and songs etc and as a normal phone . Using it as a 360??nahhhhh, i dont sync my phone a long time ago! The 360 service is very new to use it now, has a lot of failures for now!

Ok, screen is amazing, it reacts very good for a touch screen. But, that's where it sort of all stops. The idea of 360 is great. But, synchronising your mail is a pain, the chat is lacking big time. The merging of all your google, hotmail and facebook contacts have to be done manually. Ok, in the end you have 600 contacts merged, nice, but does it really make it so much clearer? Well, I'm a bit bitter now, was expecting a great phone but in the end it can not make it true. Not the phone for me anyway... And reading reviews on the internet, I'm not the only one!

I log on to Vodafone 360 with Google account only, but don't even set up any email account because I want to use browser for emails to make sure my emails are not read by prying eyes.

                    Disabled all social network sharing.

Geoffro, 07 Dec 2009Am thinking about this phone seriously, i have an n95 8g an... moreYou just dont log in on 360 site and use the phone simply when the phone starts, and in your account settings in 360 site you can disable what you share.
At the GPS app, you can block sharing to the 360 your contacts, interests etc.
In my GPS i have contacts , and when i created them i choosed not to share the info with 360. and all my info , phone adress etc arent shared too.
I dont even have Facebook hi5 on my phone. I use my phone like multimedia phone, the Social networks are blocked on my phone and i dont miss it at all, the phone is perfectly 100% cool.
I have the net active and wifi etc..Just dont use the social networks and 360 comunity to have some privacy!
                      :)

Am thinking about this phone seriously, i have an n95 8g and love it, dont want to be caught up with too much hightech applications, just wanna be able to do the simple things with no hassle. Dont wanna be annoyed by 360 all the time, i like the post about being able to keep a bit off privacy on it, how do you go about this?

Sounds to me like Samsung released this too early , just like their other phones. Great phones but buggy software and firmware.

Samsung should work the bugs out before putting out a new phone. If they did that I guarantee they would make more money in the long run.

I have just returned my handset after having it just under a week. Overall the touch screen is brilliant, contacts pages and integration with FBook and email accounts is brilliant I especially liked how SMS replies appear as a blog in speech bubbles, the MP3 player and Video quality is sharp and clear. The 360 service is easy to use. There are many good things that I can list about this phone and overall I was impressed..... However there are a few thing that tipped me into returning the phone as follows.

                            1) you cannot change the SMS alert tone to a user selected one you are given 3 naff ones despite having the original samsung ones installed on the phone.

                            2) You cannot personalise the phone in any way, ie change themes or put wallpaper/screensavers on you can only change the user I/F colours of which there are about 6. Points one and two are my biggest bug with the handset and I must say if these had been dealt with I would of probably kept the handset, But the fact that you cannot personalise the phone is its biggest drawback. We dont all want to be the same do we?? It takes me back to my old B/W Nokia which only had 8 tunes on it and I do think we have moved on from that.!!!

                            3) The GPS has no pre installed Maps so relies on the GPRS connection, which is fine however as of 1st jan this is chargeable

                            4) The PC Sync Software is fairly poor , ie, quite basic and the drivers do not install properly on Windows 7

                            5) Concern that with the Iphone being released shortly, that this handset will be put on the back shelf

                            6) The facts that the GPRS connection is active pretty much all the time and you have no way of turning it off. Very annoying at night if you have a clock radio on the bedside cabinet next to it with a speaker!!!!!

                            7) Not as good signal reception as Nokia at Home, I cant always get signal, where my old Nokia had no problem

I have hear users say about sync problems with email, but I never experienced this, the set-up was easy and quick.

That’s about it. If you can live with the items I have mentioned ( of which I am hope they will eventually sort, although no news yet) then this phone has the potential to be good. It just proved too annoying for me, and with some good handsets in the pipeline early in 2010 I think I'll wait

Loving it so far, my best phone yet. 360 website also looks very interesting and will get even better as they continue developing it.

THere is no way to set a wallpaper, because of the energy consuming of the high resolution Amoled screen ,wich the background is all black due to that too.

This phone it starts to get slow when it has One Bar of energy or if you have it turned on for a long time like a real Pc, when u use a lot of apps after along time, and you can manage more than 1 app just like an pc too, when is full charged its very quick and very responsive.
                                        I recomend this one!
