This phone is top notch for movies, considering its AMOLED screen, 800x480 resolution, very loud speaker, fast 600Mhz CPU. Brilliant for Podcast audio/video free download from iTunes. Video file name has to be changed from m4v to mp4 BEFORE transfer to phone or it won't play.

If this H1 relies on that, then I think you may have problems ...

I am sticking with a phone that has Symbian or WinMo and can install what apps I like.

The more I read about new phones the happier I am with my i8510 INNOV8 which works perfect!!

Too bad Samsung couldn't have made the screen on the Innov about 3.7 inches.

I was looking forward to using this H1 as Nav because of the great screen.

then I see its on a LiMO operating system. Not bad but still it has kept me from buying this phone.

The rest of the phone is topnotch.

Today I took a look at this phone and it's qiute impressing. Very nice feautures.. I can say that it's the new I-phone, but a lot better. The Vodafone 360 makes the phone great. The 360 is totally new, it makes the communication very up to date with hyves, twitter, facebook and more..)

The only thing is, it will get more fun after more people use the 360.

Basically I need to get a firmware update so I can sort out my email issue. Vodafone have been really good and are trying to help but I thought if I can get the update myself it may be a quicker option. I'll download PC Studio tonight do my update :)

Actually I left the USB connected for the whole night therefore it should be fully charged. I switched it off and back on, then the PC studio upgraded my phone without any complaints.

I think the error itself is a bug and hopefully this upgrade fixes this;)

Without the ability to install a standalone Navigation app on the card I will stick with Symbian.

My i8510 Innov8 never crashes and I get 7 days battery since I flashed the latest firmware.

I would buy another one but they aren't even for sale anymore in the Netherlands. They want everyone to go for the latest phones.

I have Vodafone for last 8 years and its good but since this 360 thing, they have stopped selling some real good phones like the i8910.

They are pushing for eveyrone to get into the 360 thing which I really don't like. Too many govt snoops want to spy on people. And this gives them a one stop source.

I just did the firmware upgrade with my PC this morning. That's why I have detailed version info. Phone must be fully charged. The whole process took about 20 minutes and the phone reboot itself afterwards.

But thats a matter of taste, as Symbian offers plenty of 3rd party downloads due to it being a long established OS for mobiles. However im happy with the LiMo OS, so far so good :)

Good thing about the Maps service (even though it is A-GPS therefore relys on GPRS and the 360 service being active) is that it is a very good when using as a SatNav. The down point is that Vodafone will start charging from the 1st Jan 2010 if using Maps as a SatNav.

With regards to firmware, you cant update this yourself with a PC, so says Vodafone. They will be sending out a firmware update in due time, mainly to iron out problems they are experiencing with the email and 360 service.

As Jamie@Vodafone says, getting this phone away from Vodafone will be pointless as the phone relys heavily on the 360 service being active, which in turn enables services such as Maps and Apps to download.

It is not as good as Tomtom, Route 66, McGuider or Garmin. And the worse part is, it needs to download data from 3G network. The map is not stored locally. The OS for this phone is LiMo R2. Not many apps available at the moment apart from those in app online store. Some of them are free.

                                Social networking + multimedia = 360 H1

For backing up wirelessly, many other operating systems can do that with third party tools. It is part of sync function.

Just so you all know, this phone isnt a direct competitor for the iphone, its a technology to bring all your social networking, emailing and internet usage together. its a step forward in internet phone. not an iphone competitor, yes the apps are not what they are on the iphone but they will get better.
But this phone is all about the internet experience and social networking, So if you want an iphone then you dont want a 360.

If you want social networking and internet then you want a 360.

What other phones can back up all names numbers photos and tracks without wires?

As i said, Not an iphone and i would only recommend use on the vodafone network, pretty pointless if unlocked or used without internet

I am seriously considering this H1 or the i8910.

                                      I am in Holland.

One question perhaps someone can answer.

I have Route 66, McGuider and Garmin programs for Symbian.

I use the camera and Navigation programs the most.

Is there a Nav program out for this software yet?

Please let me know so I can make my decision between the H1 or i8910.

                                      Thanks in advance.
