To get songs from your PC, buy a bluetooth dongle (about 10 quid on ebay). It plugs into the USB port on your PC, and it will come with a bit of software. Transferring pictures and music to and from your PC and mobile is then as easy as pi. :) :) :)

Sending a text is not as long winded as has been suggested. Rather than going through all the menu lists every time, just compose your text as normal, then press the central button. It will take you through the basic steps straight to the contacts list. It is just a matter of getting used to the shortcuts.

Surely the reception issue is subject to what area you happen to be in at the time?

I just bought the X680 yesterday and I think it is a pretty good phone.
By the way, I have to agree to Williams that the phone's primary "grimace" is its signal reception. However, I think the "grin(s)" compensate well. Samsung X680 has the basic applications and functions you can have in a phone (pretty good camera, video and voice recording, etc.). One last comment... I think it has the looks for less.

The battery sucks, you're lucky if it last 3days. if you are a person who always carry a bag maybe its ok to bring extra battery where you can put the extra battery, but what if you don't have a bag? And thereis the problem with the reception just like one the guys have ealier complain about. One minute the reception is clear and another minute it's gone. I have to turn off the phone and then turn it on again in order to get the reception back. And as to sms, nokia is still the best but have to admit, compared with my old E310, samsung has improve in that department.

usb cable. doesn't come with the package so you still need to get it separately. or just ask friends to send you some via bluetooth in the meantime.

the higher the megapixel, the better the resolution.
i got my unit last week. it's my first time to use a samsung phone (used nokia for ages), but i'm not the least disappointed with x680. i got my money's worth. everything that i need in a phone is all in x680.
sending sms is easier with nokia units, but you can get used to samsung's in a jiff. sound volume fares much better than all the nokia units i've had. i'm always mobile, so it's one of my primary concerns. alarm clock's great. pic quality, fair enough. sound quality, great. the weight, i love it. so light. i'm crazy about clam type phones, so i'm pretty much biased with the phone's design. the only glitch would probably be the batt life. after a day, i have to charge it again. solution: buy an extra batt. no problem, really.
bottomline: i love it better than all the nokia units i've used for almost a decade. x680 is definitely hot!

The memory can no longer be upgraded. It's already built-in. Yes, you can set downloaded mp3 & recorded voice as ringtone. Sending SMS just takes a little bit of getting used to if you're more familiar with Nokia & SE phones. Save smileys on Templates then insert them in your messages. I have 5 3gp videos saved each running for a minute, 50+ animated screensavers that I set as wallpaper & change everday, depending on my mood or wardrobe :-)2 full mp3 song plus 5 mp3 ringtones and I still have 5mb of memory left. 2 days of battery life is already acceptable. Connects easily with other Bluetooth devices. This phone really gives you your money's worth.

to jb, yes this phone is great to hold on you hand, the sound and vibrating alert is better than my old samsung. i said the sms is not good because everytime you want to send a text, it ask too many questions before you can finally send your text unlike nokia which is simple and fast. by the way, the battery does not last long. i have to charge this phone almost every two days. don't know if the battery is defective or that's the real life of the battery.

Is this phone very hit-resistant and why sms is so hard? Is the voice and loudness good, can you here well others? How about the vibrating alert? Does the phone fit well in hand and is it easy to handle?
