to aj u can transfer bigger mp3 files than 192-also this phone supports amr format tranfered from other sets by bluetooth-i like this handset much it has nice design &good features

      I'm not sure about this. But i read from another forum that the X700 can only store a maximum of 50 songs only even though there is enough memory.

      It also has a bug that tells u that u have 3
      new messages whereas in reality there's only 1 new message.

      And the firmware only speeds up the phone, DOES NOT fix anything.. This can be confirm with Samsung service centre.

      Trust me, DON'T BUY TIHS PHONE, its got pathetic battery life, pathetic mp3 playback and pathetic firmware.

        ...hey guys..samsung recently relaunched X700 in india for Rs 9999 (approx $220)..

        do u ppl thnk its a gud value for money..plz suggest any other models for same money n features..

            some q's for the ppl who hav used this since quite sometime :
            1 ) wats the cam's performance
            2 )sound's clarity
            3 )is mp3 sound good enuf?
            4 )any problem w/ video rcording ??
            5 )wats the max. video duration
            6 )file transfering is easy ??
            7 ) any other problem or any good point about this phone (who hav had and used it)

                192 bitrate...not the size.
                normal mp3 quality is usually 128kbit bitrate.
                not very sure the phone itself can play any bitrate higher than this but im sure the memory card wont play mp3 at 192kbit.

                anyway youre playing music from the phone..u wont hear much diff! doesnt matter.

                  how can i stop the answering machine? the phone accepts calls after 5 secs of ringing what can i do? i cant transfer mp3 big size ?is this normal? dams u samsung

                      Hi everyone,
                      I’m new here and I’ve a few questions to ask before buying this phone. I’m comparing between Nokia 6230i and X700. Please answer as soon as possible.

                      1. For long term usage (roughly 2 years or more), which phone do you think will be more lasting and valuable for money?
                      2. If I were to drop these two phones, which do you think will be able to absorb the impact more?
                      3. In your opinion, which phone looks and feel more solid?
                      4. For fast sms, which keypad is more user friendly? Please explain why.
                      5. If my laptop doesn’t have Bluetooth but only infrared, then how do I transfer my files between my phone and laptop?
                      6. If I want to transfer recorded movies to my laptop, will my Windows Media Player/ Quick Time Player able to detect those files? What format does X700 supports since it could not support MPEG4?
                      7. Assuming that you do not have any mobile phone yet. And if I were to give you either one of them for free, which one will you choose (honestly speaking)? Why?

                        1)u can transfer any size of mp3(192kb and below) to the phone and it is dam fast.
                        2)who on earth wanna store 1000 pic in the phone?
                        3)i dun think u can listen to music non stop for 12 hours without stopping so y bother unless u mean u from many session in a single charge. that depens on other usage. all i can say is that the battery is good.
                        4)u mean like ur surfing the net from the phone!
                        5)ten minutes of voice recording is 10mins long.

                          Hi fiends I have one question.I got this phone but the batterry keeps it alive less time then I expect - 1-2 days.Is it possible reason for this to be EDGE service that is switch on.Do somebody knows how to switch it of .Thanks a lot

                            1) Can it transfer 5MB of MP3 file and how long is that?
                            2) How many MB can take one thousand pictures and record one hour of video?
                            3) Does it last up to twelve hours of MP3 before battery goes flat?
                            4) Can it transfer pictures, videos and other things from internet to this phone?
                            5) How long is ten minutes of voice recording?
                            I think 1.3MP camera and video is good. PLEASE TELL ME OTHER DETAILS IF I HAVE NOT MENTION IT. Correct me if i am wrong. X700 users, please answer it as soon as possible.

                              i used dis phone 4 2months now, nice screen and software bt ders only 1 problem d battery easily drain wen insertd d micro SD/memory card. U can create foldr only wen u attach d SD. 4 conection 2 pc using USB b sure 2 downlod patch & service pack of winXP to work d SoftStudio 3 included in CD.
                              myRating 7.5 frustrating samsung is 2 lazy for Firmware Update...

                                  Its a Small Phone with all features that one would look for..Even though the Display is 264K but its still is found a bit wanting when, compared to the Nokia 3230...but the sound and headphones are leaps ahead of what Samsung was known for...the headphones and the MP3 quality matches upto the Sony erricssons...the 64 K chip and the 35mb shared memory also are very handy..the camera is also pretty OK for a 1.3 megapixel cam...but not the best.

                                      I have to stress that you CANNOT multi-task this phone.

                                      Example, use your mp3 player while access to other places like camera not even phone book.

                                      Multi-tasking only belongs to delicated MP3 phones like Sony Ericsson Walkman(s), MotoRork E1 and OS,PDA or 3G phones

                                      These phone are able to multi-task but at a cost. And that is to compromise its reactivity, other word its speed.

                                        bought this phone 5 days back.atractive design , large screen , sharp colours,good radio but mp3 player is pretty average,i compared it with noika 6111 which sas a very good mp3 player,sharp n loud , which x700 does not have,it has a very dizzy n low sound, one main problem which crept jus after 4 days is charging problem. i mean when i insert the charger the phone doesnt charge,jus contacted the supplier and asked for a replacemnt set,does any body has the same charging problem??
