I read from Cnet that the battery capacity for the Samsung X700 is 900mAh whereas GSMarena stats the battery capacity as 800mAh. Can anyone please confirm the facts? 100mAh makes alot of difference. Thanks.

I own this phone for a while. Reading some of the comments here may imply one has to buy a separate card reader/writer to be able to upload stuff to external micro SD card. This is not the case. You can set the USB Settings to 'Mass storate' (default is Modem - which the Samsung PC Studio uses). This turns into a regular USB storage device and you can upload anything to the external card.

I have buy this phone today. Great phone with great display, nice contrast, nice pictures, zoom also on 1280x1024. can't put other sounds on message alertand does not have function for wallpaper maximized for pictures. A few problems on download from PC. You must copy mp3's on card to be able for play them.the dislpay is much bhritest of SEk600i and pictures are sharpest.Nice phone at this price.

                    Hi All,
Bought this phone last week. Nice phone, user friendly grpahics and menu structure. Radio's nice and clear.
MP3 player works well too. But the higest volume is not all that high (compared to a Sony Ericsson)
The Camera is fantastic in bright light conditions, but a huge disapointment in low light. The is a huge delay in the time taken between the "Click" for the camera and actual picture being taken.
The few things that i didn't like:
                    1. MP3 player is shut down if you have to do any other task on the phone. Eg: Send SMS, view other Menus etc. Unlike other phones where you can have the MP3 player playing songs in the background. This, however, can be done with the FM radio.
                    2. Battery Life is abysmally low. About an hour's worth of talk time, tops! (Has anybody else faced thsi problem?)
                    3. PC Suite software is excellent.
                    4. I am sure i am on an EDGE network, but the phone does not show the "E" logo on the top. I have to confirm this with my service provider, yet.
                    5. If i have a new number to add from an SMS message, i cannot add it to an existing contact. I can add it only as a new contact. (unless there is another way that i do not know)
                    6. Browser menu options are a little tricky and takes time to get used to.

                    This much - so far....
                    Cheers!

Yes, you can set MP3 as your ringtone. I am using it now.

you have to use card reader to upload and download file from and into external memory, dont worry, we dont have to switch off the phone, and tha data transfer is fast

                                  hello guys.
i've bought the phone a couple of weeks ago.everythins seems ok except some medium size details. one of them (and most disturbing one probably) is that even you switch the phone to silent mode it is not 100% silent. e.g, youre in meeting, phone is in silent mode, someone calls u, u dont respond as expected but when the incoming call is terminated by the other party, your phone gives a silly "connection closed" melody. I mean u might not bother so much but what does silent mean anyway???
also absence of the sound setting profiles (like nokia phones have) is a bit tiring for finger in order to adjust for sound setting everytime your circumstances change..

the phone is adequate in many ways but i would expect a some additive wise ideas from my colleagues at samsung.
