The message tone volume is not low but it is low in noisy environment. To resolve this problem, Select Menu/ Settings/ Sound Settings/ Message Tone/ Messages/ Alert Type : "Vibration then melody". If you like, change setting of Repetition from "Once" to "Every 1 minute" or "Every 2 minutes".
Make sure, that your incoming call's volume is at level 5 since it is adjusted at level 4 according to factory settings .... If you have applied "reset" code then it will be adjusted at level 4.... The incoming call's volume is directly related to message/ Email tone volume.

In my X700 when I listen to any mp3 ring tone from the Music folder in FILE MANAGER it is heard very loud. But if I set it up as a ringtone and when I get a call it is not heard that loud.There is a considerable amount of difference though the Volume level is kept constant on both occasions.Why so, please help.

Hi Usman. Message tone of X700 has very low volume(even when full). How to solve this problem?

To bd: X700 has stereo FM radio. Read samsung official page: http://www.samsung.com/me/products/mobilephones/gsm/sgh_x700.asp I think, you are comparing radio sound quality with its mp3 player. Use 3.5 mm samsung audio adapter with your X700 and listen FM on your favourite headphones or external speakers. You will get better sound quality. Make sure that you get clear FM reception because it also depends on your area location. In karachi, there are 9 FM radio channels but only 5 have good sound quality. Since i can receive all 9 channels clearly but some channels have average sound quality. (USMAN)

To Rohit: You can change skin by selecting Menu/Settings/Display settings/Skin but only 4 skins are available and you can't install more skins other than these. To Kumaresh: Yes, the ringtone volume is low as compared when you listen from mp3 player. Use louder mp3 files as ringtones. (USMAN)

hi Usman, when i hear the mp3 file under music it is loud but when i receive a call and i've set it up as a ringtone i'm not able to hear it that loud. why? please help, thanks in advance.

You can use bluetooth headset like "Jabra BT620s" or "SE DS970" or "Samsung WEP 200" with your Samsung X700 to listen MP3 files wirelessly and you can listen "stereo" music due to A2DP profile of X700. This A2DP profile is "absent" in most of N series Nokia sets like N70, N73 (or music editions) which results mono sound output instead of stereo!

Antz, In my opinion x700 won't make a competition to K750i which has a 2MP camera with real flash and autofocus and good sound quality also. The Samsung model in the same class is P310
