      To Nishikant:

To install games / softwares into X700 through USB cable from PC, visit this :

      http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/install_games.htm

and download this games installation guide :

      http://www.mydatabus.com/public/usmanafzal/z/InstallgamesonX700.pdf

      To Booney:
Please note that X700 is not a symbian mobile, so it doesn’t support “SIS” files. To install games into your X700, you needs both JAR and JAD files. If you have a JAR file and you think it is compatible with X700, then make JAD file from JAR file with the help of this freeware software:

      http://www.mydatabus.com/public/usmanafzal/z/JADMaker.zip

But if after this, you are still unsucceeded to install games, then it means that these games are not compatible with X700. The site you have mentioned, shows “SIS” files as Samsung X700 compatible softwares…. So, you can think about the quality of information they have provided!

Also try to download games / softwares from my site and install these through USB cable into your mobile:
      http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/java_games.htm

I have installed a 3D high level graphics game “Prince of Persia 3” from a wap site on my X700….

      To Sandy:
Please wait 2 days more for my reply.

i know, i have download all the java appl. from another sites through usb succesfully...but i failed with that sites, because it's mentioned the game compatible with x700..
and then i copied them, some of them have *.sis and *.jar extension...that's why i said to all of you to visit that sites before reply....

To all: Please visit this samsung X700 supporting site made by myself:
                            http://usmanafzal.110mb.com

                            To SSS:
Please download “Sun Mobile Dictionary” from this link:
                            http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/java_games.htm
And install it into your X700.

                            To RG:
You have discussed the drawbacks of X700 but you did not mention the drawbacks of Nokia 6233. If you are not aware of these, then please visit this link:

                            http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/compare_x700.htm

The better comparison of Nokia 6233 is with Samsung D600 since both have 2MP cameras, 2GB memory card support, full screen video playback, 240 x 320 pixels resolution, 3D sound quality. There is better video recording in 6233 along with FM radio but D600 has TV output for all kind of files and document viewer to view office / pdf files and much better security features than Nokia 6233 with almost same price (6233 @ 13,900 pak rupees / D600 @ 14,200 pak rupees / X700 @ 9,200 pak rupees) till April , 2007

Samsung X700 plays MP4 video files very well but the requirements are:
Maximum frame rate : 15 fps
                            Maximum video resolution : 176 x 144 pixels
                            Recommended video bitrate : 140—-160 KB/s (for some MP4 files, it supports 210 KB/s)
For more info, please read this:

                            http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/related_softwares.htm

Download these MP4 video files into your X700 from:

                            http://usmanafzal.110mb.com/mp4videos.htm

These are fully compatible with X700.

TO THE ANONYMOUS: Sorry, if you feel that I saw only its downsides. But that was not my intention. I didn't mean that x700 doesn't support 1GB- I said 1 GB is maximum.(BOGO here asked whether it supports 2 GB)He made a wrong comparison of phones of two different classes- in features as well as price- I just wanted to make him realize this-thats all.
Regarding mp4, I had copied mp4 videos recorded in samsung x820 and many other phones to x700, via bluetooth&usb but they didn't play at all.(It may be able to play mpeg-mp4 converted files, but thts not the case with all mp4 files.) By the way have you noticed the framerate of video recording in x700? Around 10.5fps is the maximum and in low light this falls to even 5fps. How can you watch an average video without atleast 15fps? Also this may be the reason for mp4 videos from other phones not playing well-they are recorded at atleast 15fps.Bit rate also high. 3gp videos, its ok.
Just hear the audio from 6233 and you will realize that dual speakers in 6233 are not the same as in x 700.Thats why I said X700 has all the features without great performance at a fair price.

BOGO: So you've selected x700-congrats! I still believe it has value for MONEY. After all each samsung mobile is a product of high level engineering. i just wanted to remind you of the negatives-thats all. Now try to explore your phone and find its merits.
There are a number of in-built ring tones. In the menu, go to settings...4.sound settings...ringtone. Then press the 'i' button(middle). you'll enter the tones list. press 'left' and 'right' navigation keys(arrows) to find different types. But you can set mp3 tones. Sms tones are in next menu-message tones. alarm tones are also in the phone.mp3 tones can be set for alarm as well. But you can't set mp3 tones for message alert.
VGA: A VGA camera in mobile takes PHOTOS upto VGA resolution(640x480) only. Don't confuse this with this VGA video recording. VGA photos have small resolution.New megapixel cameras can take large photos. When you know that x700 can take photos upto 1280x1024 size, you can understand the difference. But for mobile VIDEO recording, VGA is very big. even QVGA is sufficient. The difference will be noticable only when you play these in big screens.
