To Ali :
Call barring feature depends on your service provider ... You cannot activate by yourself even if your service provider does not give you this facility.... Your service provider will give you call barring password .... By using this service, you can block all incoming / outgoing phone calls.... international calls ( all, except home ).... incoming while abroad....You can change call barring password ....
If you have X700 then read user guide came with this phone.... It covers all these features....
By using sim lock, you can only use current sim with X700.... To use a different sim, you must enter sim lock code....
FDN (fixed dialling numbers) mode restricts you to make calls only to phone numbers saved in FDN list....
PIN (personal identification number) check restricts unauthorised use of your sim card.... Enter PIN code every time you switched-on your set....
To Prateek:
There is no sense to ask same questions again and again.... I can't answer same questions everytime.... like “call recording code” or any other info that i have given in this forum.... Use “search opinion” feature of this page by entering “code” in search textbox....
To ALL:
This is my LAST POST in this forum.... I am leaving this forum now since many users are not following posting rules .... please don't ask to me any more question in this forum .... You can contact me at my email address.... Thanks a lot for reading my posts for last 6—7 months....

Hi Usman,
I have some questions about the "Security" features associated with this cellphone.
What is the function of Sim-Lock?
What is FDN mode?
What is PIN check?
How do I use call-barring facility? Do i just need to go and activate it?
Hope you can answer this. Thanks in advance.

The X700 is a handsome phone.I fell in luv at first site.A very complete phone at the price it goes for.Great display, good sound and camera quality.I have used two previous samsung phones before now- X100 and X620 and they do not match the X700 by a mile!
The only draw backs i see in the phone are-
1)No IRDA.
2)The memory card does not come with the phone.
3)The mp3 cannot be minimised.
But a great phone to have all the same.

There may be severel reasons because of which u r not able to connect the phone to pc.You have to start from the basics.
1)first of all your PC's operating system should be windows XP.install XP if you r using some other operating system(samsung PC studio works on XP only)
2)If the above mentioned is not yoour problem then make sure that u have installed USB drivers.start all over again.unistall the samsung PC studio completely from control panel's ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMMES OPTION on your pc.then reinstall it.when the Cd is inserted in the drive XP automatticaly installs everything including PC studio and USB drivers.
3)make aure that you are plugging your USB cable in the correct USB port.
follow all the steps properly and you will get the result.good luck.thank you.

To Atif :
Open telenor's website ( http://www.telenor.com.pk ) on your PC, and check that their EDGE service covers your area/ city.... Otherwise, you can only use their GPRS service.... If your area is included, then call to their help line or go to customer care center.... There is no need to activate EDGE service from mobile... It is already activated if your service provider gives EDGE service in your area....
You cannot copy all contacts at once from phone to sim.... You can only do this one by one....
To Bushra:
For PC connectivity with X700 ( to phone's memory/ memory card using usb cable ), read my previous post on 24 august, 2006 .... To get this post, type “system” in search opinion textbox and press “ENTER” key from keyboard.... That post is in first page ....
To Kashif Khan:
To be honest, i never used Nokia 6233 before.... I don't know any tip to resolve this problem.... I think, nokia did not put that source code for video files.... but gsmarena review says that it can rewind/forward videos in 6233.... check this and please inform me if my opinion is incorrect:
http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6233-review-98p5.php
I have not used any messenger software on mobile.... but these are some messenger softwares:

Dear Usman
Thanks for ur previous posts & help. Kindly solve the following issues:
1) is there any way we can Fast Forward or Rewind videos in Nokia 6233? if no, then whts the technical reason?
2) which MSN Messenger should i install in my 6233 which runs smoothly, consume less data (so that it doesnt charge more) and easy to chat with more than two people? (plz make sure that session should not expire itself until the user do it himself)
Sorry for bothering X700 users by talking about Nokia. But though i personally like X700 :)
Regards
Kashif

I considered Samsung X700 as the most complete GSM phone on earth... This phone was made by Samsung deeply by heart... This should have brothers in the next generations... Samsung, more power!

hi guys.i'm a mobile lover.i have almost used all kind of mobiles starting from the late 90's.of late i have been using D900 from samsung.well..just before a week i got samsung X700 in my hands.it's a good phone when compared to the price.so let's begin.i will give the pros and cons about this handset.
PROS let me start with the screen.it's one of the best screens available in the market( remember samsung are known for giving great screens).the camera in this device is awesome.before getting this phone i thought SE k750i is the best camera phone.well i was wrong.this phone has an amazing camera.the pictures taken can be compared to the best camera phones including nokia 6630( great camera)and SE k750i.mp3 quality is good enough(better with headset).one more thing i find great is that the privacy feature about this phones.u can secure your private files.
there are also some negative aspects about this phone.first mp3 player cannot be mimimised.also battery life is not that good.last about two days.
well,if anybody wants to buy this phone on't think twice.go for it.
if anybody wants to know more about this phone or any other mobile simply ask about it to me in this forum.thanks for reaidng my opinion about samsung X700.PRINCE

To Usman Chughtai :
The JAR file contains all source code of software while JAD contains only the path of JAR file and other information like MIDP version, CLDC Version, jar file name with path, jar file size, vender name, and so on.... Actually, JAR file installs with the help of JAD file.... That is why, both files will be placed in the same folder.... Try to open any JAD file in your PC in any text editor like notepad... Then you can understand clearly !

To Usman Chughtai :
If you have budget under 10K, then X700 is the ideal choice.... My brother has D600 and it's user interface is almost same as X700.... Till now, Samsung X700 is my favourite phone....
In the getjar.com site, ALL softwares means all kinds of softwares .... you need both jar and jad files .... save both files in same folder.... download samsung compatible version softwares.... The 300KB limit is only applicable for installation through wap internet ( site is http://wap.getjar.com ) while there is no jar size limit when installing through USB cable.... For software installation on X700 by usb cable, read my post on 01 december, 2006 ( to sudhee ) , also read azeem's post on 8 november, 2006....
