To danish3:
Yes.... on standby mode..... you need to select “ CB” option, then you can see the actual name of your area just below the service provider's name....and Samsung D500 and D600 also shows this service same as on Samsung X700....

        i have tried this way and it works:

        To have cell info display in X700 follow this:

        Go to Messages->Broadcast Messages
        Select Channel -> All Channels -> Enable
        Then come back, and
        Select Receive -> On

        im using TELENOR, Now below telenor text it shows "New CB (50)"
        can anyone tell me how to remove this text, to show the actual area name here

          To danish3: This is not a problem at all. I have checked "TELENOR" sim on my X700 and my brother's K700i .... In K700i, the area name displays below the service provider's name.... While in X700, you need to click "CB" option on lower right corner of screen.... then you can see the area name below the service provider's name.... You must click CB option to see the area location!

            with this the service area is displayed.
            Its working for me"

            but the problem is that i get the broadcast msg in which name of area is written but it is not displayed just below my service provider name.n i have to manually press CB to see new CB as it mentions it ???

            does any one have idea how to get the display of area just below service provider?

                        To play video files ( 3gp or MP4), just select video file.... and press “i / ok” center key.... or go to options....then click to play....then, video will be played....
                        You cannot see the mpeg4 player as you see mp3 player.... but you have to select the video mp4 file then press ok button.....

                              The Jet Audio 6.2 is freeware and you can get it free from:
                              http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/
                              To change the bitrate of mp3 file, open Jet Audio and click “Conversion” tab.... Now add source mp3 file....then select “output format” as mp3 or mp3 pro.... click “Config...” and set CBR to 192 or 256 or 320 kb/s .... then click “start” button... this will start the bitrate conversion.... it's so simple.....

                                Thanks a lot for your compliment ..... i think, this is the number one X700's forum where we can share our views about this awesome phone.....

                                To ayaz noor :
                                To increase ringtones volume or making vibrating ringtones, use “PSM Player” software. I am using version 5.0 on windows XP. You can download latest PSM Player 5.0 from http://www.ijunoon.net/ringtones.asp

                                Start PSM Player and click “File ”menu then click “open” to select ringtone file ( mmf,midi …). This will load the selected ringtone. You can play the ringtone before conversion. To convert mmf into midi, first load mmf file then go to file menu then select “create midi” option. This will show a dialogue box, select check box “ringtone mode” then press ok. You will see a save dialogue box. Click to save button. That’s it. You have successfully created midi ringtone from mmf file.
                                To increase volume of mmf file, load mmf file then go to settings menu and select volume option. Set volume and master volume . Click to apply then ok . Play this before saving. If ok then go to file menu…. Create smaf then smaf 40 chords . Then if you want to add vibration in it, select vibrator check box and then click ok. Then click to save button. This is mmf file with high volume/vibration. You can convert midi into mmf file. Just load midi file then select create smaf option …. Click ok , then click save button……..
                                N.B: Please don't increase vibrator value to above 10.....otherwise vibration doesnot work!.... the ideal value for vibrator is 1...
