Is there any way that I can decrease alarm clock volume? It freaks me out every time it goes off! :O
And can is there a way to set up phone book so it would display only contacts stored in the phone memory? I've got double contacs now - one from the SIM card and one from the cell, and it's not very useful.
P.S. @ Bertus - what's the software difference between te 500 an 500v? (I know that e.g. Motorola V360v doesn't have voice recording and V360 does, but I haven't figured out the Samsung difference.)

The battery life is really short bt gets better when switch to 2G sim card. bt the really big problem i hae is tat the phone constantly logs off the network, be it calling or sending sms, either it keep showing connecting or svc nt available, i have to switch off/on then it might work, rather disappointed

Oh yes, and to stop taking photos when it is in your pcoket, put on the key lock pad. It will ask you to press 'OK' if you want to take a photo when the lid is closed.

TO CHARLOTTE: To use the alarm when the phone is switched off, turn on 'auto power' and it will switch on when the alarm is activated.

hi,
i've had this phone about 2 months now, had no problems with it other than the battery not lasting that long but also...the button on the side where u hold it to take photos, when it's in my pocket it takes loads of black photo's, i've cought it a few times before its took hundreds but last time i ended up with 31 black photos and had to delete them individually.
anyone know how to turn this off ?

The only difference between the Z500 & Z500V is the software. Vodaphone put their own branded (really crappy) software on the phone and called it Z500V. All the functions are the same so don't panic! Cheers. :-)

Hi,
I see everyone is commenting about Z500, but Z500V is quoted on my phone package. This makes me scared that I bought a wrong phone.
Does anybody knows if there is a different between "Z500" and "Z500V".
By the way, I'm a samsung customer from South Africa.

Just bought the phone yesterday. And so far, no complaints. Just today, in the middle of a busy street, I called a friend and the first thing she said was "I hear you, no need to shout!" I was like ??? and said where I was. She paused and said she can't even hear the cars. :D I've been through the menus back and forth, everything works. Haven't tried linking to anything via anything yet, don't have the time now.
Just one q: I may not have stumbled upon it, but I'm not sure even if it's possible... Does someone know if I cange the open/close sound? Thx!
