Have still not discovered it yet , however when compared with my previous one E715 , i note that Z500
- Has no blinking light for messages
- Does not vibrate first , ring later
- does not have a calander as wallpaper choice
I am right ? Thanks for advising .

Yeah, I like it. For: shape, size, modem. Against: battery like.

On voda fone and also having code trouble.only after this at present to gain extra battery life..the phone is great just curious that 3g phones have been huge and was this a ploy at beggining as it is obviouis that phones could be made small?When video calling it is only good if both partys are still as pixellation starts-there fore the data speeds are not as fast as we thought & as 3g"s killer application is video calling WAS 3G DOOMED TO BE A FAILURE FROM DAY1???

Man!! The Black version of the Z500 is Wicked!! so~ cool~ i'm loving it. The cheap lookin silver strip on the sides are GONE!

The phone is fantastic - the battery is terrible. I've seen all the posts with the codes for the tech menu - when i use it it says 'unknown command'. I'm on vodafone does anyone have any ideas of how to get round this? I've also tried the two net work codes but get auto subnet is locked message.

I'm a Nokia user and it is the first time i tried Samsung and it is great. The battery life can be improved on and the menu's with submenu's is a hastle. Other wise fast 3g e-mail, great job Samsung!

I've been reading your comments re. battery time improvement and I don't understand what I have to do. I'm not usually thick, honest. Can you go step by step. I'm on vodafone and use it to videocall my husband. If I did manage to do what you said, would I still be able to use videocall. Thanks in advance.

have you tried another networks sim card.. it should work i have done loads of vodafone z500 ,s no bother.. free of charge for all my mates..

I tried using the unlock code on my Vodafone Z500. I received the message "Auto subset lock: activated" after the first one and "Auto Network lock: activated" after the second. When entering the five digit part of the code at the end the figures are replaced by dashes. Has Vodafone blocked the unlock or is something wrong? Cheers,

Hi - I'm thinking bout getting this phone but have seen different specs some saying it has loudspeaker some saying it doesn't. Can anyone let me know if it does either way. I'd be most grateful. .

hey guys, is there a way to get rid of d operator logo?i already changed d call settings from combined to CS, hope it wil really improve battery life..how about d 2mode pref?should it be disable or enable?and d network order?i marked GSM first, is it ok?

to chrisp ....Hi, I am not to sure if my Z500 has the alarm problem? i heard about it and so i set 2 test alarms the 1st one to go in 10 mins time and the other in 15mins time and they both went off! i have S/W version Z50CDZEF8 you find it by entering that *#1546792*# and go to version, also make sure you change the Network & Call settings and the Service Domain from Combined to CS, before i did this i was getting MAX 1 day and now im getting MIN 3 1/2 it takes the little G of by the reception this stops the phone from being connected to GPRS 24/7 which saves the battery life..yes it means your phone is just not constantly connected

to ding... take your simcard out of handset .... power the handset on ... and enter the following . *7465625*28782# then *7465625*28638# does the trick..

Hi. Im really disappointed with the battery life of the Z500. Mine lasts for less than 1 day.
Anyway, I've read the posts of GAZ regarding turning off the G icon on the screen, so that the gprs isnt always on, but I dont understand how you do it. I dont know where the technical menu is. Can someone please show me how to do it? Thank you.
